Thread: My Vaksai can't run EO4/WO3/RO4 together?

My question would be do you run the same sequence of commands? I normally run RO4 EO4 WO3....check weapons. CO3.

Multiply the reactor energy drain of your engine by 10, and add the RED of all your other components to that number. If you're running CO4, also multiply your capacitor's RED by 10 when adding it in. Multiply your reactor's generation rate by 2, and compare the numbers. This will give you a good idea of how close your reactor is to being able to power your ship.

reactor size needs atleast 2k spare to run EO4 n WO3 at the same time, i would go for no less then 16k gen. run in order
RO4 CO4 WO3 EO4 -
EO4 is a resorce hog and can disable your ship

Try using the /ethrust command, and see if it works afterward.

I built a L9 reactor with 4k more energy than the one I was using and that worked. The reactor in my Krayt is 13.4k and it powers 3 L8 guns, L8 reward shield, L8 engine, etc. if I use overloads. But the same equipment (except only one gun) won't work in my Vaks.

Is it because the chassis spd is higher, allowing the engine to run at full power?

Anyway, thanks for the help. It's not a perfect solution, but I can do without the heavy shields and armor and squeeze in the bigger reactor, so it all good.

Sometimes, droid commands "stick" to components even after you unload them and redeed a ship. So yeah Kryaxal might be right, /ethrust clears the flags on the components.

In these situations, an uber loot reactor comes in real handy, like the Kuat R-CTZ. 45K of energy and I can run any kind of overload. If you can cut a good deal with an owner or happen to loot one, RE it and use it.

well with a 12k reactor and a ship at 8-9 out of 12k, i can run EO3 and CO4 without even using RO...capacitor is about 1k RED and the engine is 1.4k RED. Havent plugged in exact forumla's but i would think that *should* overload my ship...but it doesnt

I use a 16750 energy reactor with RO4,E04,CO4,and WO3 in that order...

Weapon systems almost go offline after using EO, but with WO they come back up to full power.

I am able to use these settings with my Vaksai, hope it helps

This is very weird. I undeeded my Vaksai, loaded it up, and launched. BUt when I try to run my usual RO4/WO4/EO4, I run out of energy and my caps and guns are disabled. My reactor far more than enough power to run the sequence, in fact it works on all my other ships. I've tried taking the components from other ships and using them and redeeded, but no matte what, I still run out of power. I even jumped to DS forrepair, but no luck.


Has anyone run into this problem?

yep, try switching to an even bigger reactor, sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesnt. but seriously, are you using the same components as u used on ur other ship? which of ur other ships has 150k mass and 1 gun? id say, put in an even bigger reactor and try it. ./shrug or dont use the vaksai...

I think there's a bug where right after you undeed a ship, you will have problems with using level 4 droid commands until after the next server reset. I had similar problems when I first set up my JSF. The problem corrected itself the next day.

I have been a ace for a long time and i have aced2 classes and i have found and made tickes on engine overload 4 and how it will disable and break stuff , As a 3 time master pilot i have found you realy only need 4 chips to own anything in space


reactor overload (freelancer)


Cap overload (freelancer)


Engine overload 3 (imp chip)


Cap to shield shunt 4 (freelancer chip)


i found that weapon overcharge was not that good, AS for the freelancer chips imps can use them and they are life savers in battle ,


Also if you get disabled and the station can fix you, you have to land and use a repair kit on them i had to do this when i was grinding out imp pilot for the 2nd time when i did engine overcharge 3 2 times by misstake
