Thread: Question about PoB's

Since it is difficult to find a full crew to run a PoB, I've really not experimented on them much, especially at other people's expense, so I was hoping someone may know the answer to this question.

Let's sayI'm flying my YT-1300 and I have two people, myself and 1 other. If I'm doing an escort mission, does someone have to be in the pilot seat to /follow another ship? Just for kicks, I was thinking about /follow(ing) the ship I'm escorting, then we hop out of the cockpit and go to the turrets.

With no one in the pilot seat, will it still follow while we are blowing things away in the turrets? Obviously, there won't be anyone to CtSS the shields or anything like that, but with the new weapons coming out in Pub 24, I doubt any ship will come close enough to worry about that.

Whenever the pilot of a POB leaves the pilot's chair, the ship automatically sets itself to 0 throttle. So, unfortunately, you can't use the autopilot or /follow commands, then leave the seat.

I've done tier 4 destroy duty missions solo in a POB. Fly to the waypoint, jump out of the seat and head for the turret about 500m before the waypoint. Ship will coast to a stop right about the time the enemy fighters start spawning. You can control your droid commands while in the turret as well, if you need to shunt or redirect the shields.
