Thread: Suggestions for bettering DS:
2. Get rid of the Vettes. They do nothing but plug up the spawns people care about (the fighters and gunboats/NPC POBs), and give "doitformes" another way to get Ace without actually doing or risking anything. They drop NO loot, they take ten times as long as a gunboat to destroy, and award less FP as well as around the same amount of credits. They're functionally useless, and the greater the Vette population, the greater the lag and propensity for ISD lag as one passes into the firing envelope.
3. If #1 is unfeasible, create a 2km "no fly zone" around the FS and ISD, the only exceptions being when a spawn LEAVES from the point. If flight paths (since I've noticed there DO appear to be set paths for Vettes inside DS thanks to them being lined up like Rockettes) are made to keep out of the ISD's firing envelope, unnecessary and probably EXTREMELY server-testing lag would be avoided.
And...I don't know why I'm submitting this - it'll never be read, heeded, or implemented.
I'd rather see the vettes drop loot and slightly better faction, to be in line with gunboats. Then people would take them out - they don't take much longer than a gunboat to clear.
The spawns resetting is part of the story that's supposed to be around DS, that was never finished and is currently broken. When you take out the other base you temporarily take out their forces in that sector. I think the whole thing could be retooled a bit, but not scrapped altogether.
Not a bad idea though. I'd be happy if they'd just fix Freedom Station already.
how about when you attack the ISD/RSS all ships in the sector aligned with said landmark aggro you and come for you, just make the components a little tougher to make it last a few minutes and allow some of the local ships to get to you.
That could get REALLY messy if it hadn't been killed in a day or so and someone attacked it
might make the ISD/RSS at least interesting to kill
I'd like to see less spammage from the ISD and an increase on the damage its turbolasers do to a pilot. More variety in NPCs wouldn't hurt either. Seeing loads of corvettes all the time gets boring. I know it won't get added but I can dream can't I? Two opposing 'fleets' (they don't have to be too big) would be nice. Maybe make Freedom station into an MC-80 Mon Cal cruiser and make it and the ISD indestructable. Have it so instead, you can get FP from destroying different systems such as turbolaser batteries, which if the damage was upped on them it'd prove a challeneg since you'd have to fly in close to destroy them.
I'm not too sure to be honest on what I'd like to see implemented. The sad fact is that merely having POBs made into what they should be kept me happy for longer than it should really so -any- addition to space that actually works and involves pvp would make me happy I guess.
