Thread: Freelance POB issue that needs to be fixed.

I have a problem with the fact that I can co-pilot for a rebel, but he can't co pilot for me. Since there are about 70% rebel pilots in game, this makes it very hard to use my YT. Anyone else think this should be changed.....I should be able to reach over and shield shunt anyway, I am a master for gawds sake...

Opinions?

Actually, this does make sense to me.

A fighter jock is a fighter jock is a fighter jock. Reb or Imp, doesn't matter.

BUT...a freelance pilot should be able to fly whatever he gets thrown into...maybe not 100%, but he can make it look good.

Just my opinion though.

While I agree with the concept, in game it causes a lot of issues. I am rebel alligned, so most of my friends/guildmates are rebel. Maybe link the co-pilot thing to the ground faction? I guess for me it is just annoying. I want to use my YT finally...

I think it was restricted to prevent, say, an Imperial pilot from copiloting on a YT-1300 and calling a /bstrike3 down on a group of Imperial gunboats. If you'll notice, the ships from bomberstrike aren't strictly Imperial-aligned. Alliance pilots can call in repair and reload ships (reloading doesn't work on POBs--not sure about repair) that are Alliance-aligned, which could cause problems with docking with an Imperial vessel.Freelance pilots, on the other hand, have no factional-related issues with commands.

Ok, I know for a fact that you Halyn know more about the logistics of space combat in this game. I am really just wanting a fix where co pilot for a freelance pilot can be rebel if the pilot is a rebel on the ground. Same for imperial. I do not know if this is even possible, but it would be nice. For me anyway.

It would be nice indeed.

If you are just looking for someone to hit shunt once in a while, though, a person sitting in the turrets can use droid commands.

Definite, he just has to have the same commands as what is in your flight computer on his screen to use them, but yeah, let her rip.

What if someone were to take thier YT and declare at an imperial station? Would thier imperial pilot friend be allowed to sit in the operations chair at that point?

I just wanted to be able to shield shunt with out stopping my ship if no freelance pilots were around. I am not, nor do I claim to be a game developer. I just had a problem and wanted a fix. I have one.

I don't have a YT to test it with, but I'm 95% certain it wouldn't allow the Imperial to sit in the ops chair.
