Thread: A question about gaining xp.

Ok, actually, a couple questions.

First, point blank, im new to the space scene, i'v been trying it out the last week or so and I like it so far. Imperial based, Black Epsilon Squad (Talus imp outpost)

My questions are as follows:

I lastnight recived my first 'training', but I didnt even have the full xp bar, no complaints, but is this a common thing? As it stands, I get abuot 70xp/kill, even getting 7500 xp takes a while, i cant imagine getting 200k+ on tier 3/4. Does this xp raise as the ships I fight get harder? How do I tell what level ship I am fighting?

Do I get to train the majority of my skills with the 'free' training?

After I trained my skill lastnight, the zabrak chick I'd been getting my missions from gave me a, Duty, How long until I can start poping missions again? for these 'Dutys' arnt very beneficial from what i'v seen, the xp raise was very minimal, like 10%.

Are there any, Quicker, ways to gain xp then soloing?

I dont want to ask how to 'get plvl'd' per-sey, but thats essentially what im wondering, I currently am in a small guild, who's pilot aces are frankly useless at best.

On components, is there a 'range' database of whats considered good etc? like for PC'd parts?

Sorry for the 532806502 questions, but they'v been itching at me for a week or so now, and I finally decided to just post them

I would suggest that you read the FAQ. It answers all your questions.

But the quick short answers are:

You only get xp free training on the one box in tier 1, every box in tier 3, and the master box which is two missions. Everything else you have to gain XP.

If you do the destroy duty missions all the way through you should nearly gain a whole box of XP.

About the parts, check the FAQ more specifically the links in the Pilot Academy section. There is about 5 or 6 guides folks have written about being a pilot and most of them cover parts.

Thank you for directing me to the FAQ, Most of that information I already knew, aas in on the FAQ, but still didnt answer any of my questions relating to gaining xp, and I frankly dont see them on the FAQ, nor ditermining lvl of ships your fighting.

If you are fighting Tier 1, you get low xp.

As you go up in level, the XP gets higher.

If you want to REALLY have a challenge, try and take out a Tier 3/4 ship as a Tier 1.

you will see that you get crazy xp (almost enough to fill one of your Tier 1 boxes)

Hope that answers the question.

It does, but how do i tell what TIER im fighting?

I took out some black sun thinggies lastnight, they were tough, more shields then I could shake a stick at, but eventully all 9 died from my little newbie tie, I didnt check howmuch xp per kill (kinda hard since it doesnt TELL You howmuch xp you gain anymore, alteast not for me), but they were definatly more difficult then anything I ran across in missions so far.

When you have them targeted, it should tell you Tie Fighter Tier 2 or something to that affect.

Indeed, I installed SWG on a dif computer and that comes up.

It doesnt on my normal one (which i have been playing on), that is why Iwas asking of the tier.

I do apologize for asking the stupid question, but its not my fault SoE cant design or maintain a game worth a wamp-rat's tail
