Ok, on the last mission to gain the vaksai I take out the fighters escorting the vette no problem, then I retake the vette no problem .... but then on the way back to the station fighters come out of the woodwork and end up either blowing the vette or me before we can get back. I tried waiting until around 1500m to blow the engine, this was working fine until suddenly at around 3000m the vette jumped to hyper and I failed, so apparently the mission is on a timer. I have never had trouble doing escorts before and the fighters should be no problem yet i can't get the vette home. DId any of you guys have this problem?? Its really starting to piss me off.

Don't wait so long. the hyperout is a fixed point, and 1500m is obviously too close

The fighters aren't the hard part of the defense, its the multiple tier5 gunboats that can pop if they have enough time. If you're having trouple with the fighters, then you need to go into more detail because there shouldn't be any troubles with them.

Most times fighters and even the gunboats take a good long time vs that corvette, and have a hard time getting to the reactor, so Im not sure why its getting destroyed for you, unless you took out all the guns when you captured it.

disable, disable, disable

If the first waves don't die then you will get no gunboats. I solo'd my RG TIE, not one single gunboat (and no i didn't use BS).

I think you need to disable the Vette at 3.5k from the station, the jump point is at like 3k I believe.

ok .... thanks, i didn't know gunboats spawned on this mission and i would say that that is what has been taking me out because i'll be doing fine then all at once i'm getting hit from all directions. lol, has to be a gunboat. The 2 times i got blown i was chasing a ghrag fighter then all at once boom. I was thinking it was do to some massive fighter spawn but i'm sure it is a gunboat, i know nothing else that can take you out that quick. Thanks again!

here some advices...

to take the vette just destroy gun 5 and attack it from below, this way the vette will still have its other guns

fighters should be not a big problems with the armed vette the problem will be the GB, if you can't handle them just "aggro" them and fly away with the FB on your tail, try to keep them away for the vette, whitout actually engaging.

don't risk too much, the vette with guns should be able to handle enemies quite well.

for this mission i also suggest a low profile fighter like a grievous if you have one or a lizard or even a high mass scyk.

remember to fit a good engine with 90+ speed, 110+ is better and to use various programs like EO 3/4 WO3 and Cap to Shield.

actualy, it doesn't matter much if you take out the guns or not. even if you take out all its guns the vette will re-generate these once its been captured. the only parts that wont regenerate are the reactor and the shields.

Get behind the vette. target the shields and take them out with some space bombs or protons or something. then just pop the engine when you want it disabled.

even with all its guns, the vette will still be very weak against the incoming fighters, since it wont have its shields.

yup. when doing the mission for the red-guard TIE, i took out all of the guns. once the ship came under our control, they all regenerated

the one time I did it, I only took out gun 5, it did not respawn. Maybe if you take out all of them, they all will respawn?
