Thread: Corsec Tier 4 Mission Help

On Intrepid. Can't seem to get past the mission where you help the corsec with the black sun. Have to destroy two gunboats and some other fighters. Fighters are easy, but if I get within range at all of the gunboat I'm dead. Tried with two guildies. Dead. Any suggestions?

Get the gunboats to chase you (not hard) and have friends take them from 550m back (takes caution and YOU aren't the one controlling it). If not that, there's no easy way...

i did this tonight.

take a mate with u (grouped)

instead of all the freakin Gunboats, we got 1 and about 12 fighters

far easier

thught it was a one-off, so we did it again, and sure enuff, 1 gunboat

I had some trouble with this as well until I read a tip here. On the second part of the mission when you're supposed to kill some Black Sun fighters, just hang back and let them escape. The benefit here is you'll still be able to go on to the third part, but instead of a second gunboat, there will be 6 of the Black Sun fighters you let go. So that comes out to be 1 gunboat and 12 fighters instead of 2 gunboats and 6 fighters. I was able to solo that mission once I learned this

How are we defining "not hard"? Because I'm still trying the same mission. The gunboats absolutely REFUSE to follow me. If I'm in gun range, they'll shoot at me, but if I start moving away, they're back to pounding on my NPC allies. I managed to all but cripple one of them, and it still wouldn't pay any attention to me. I'm not having trouble surviving, but my NPCs sure as heck are.

o man i took me forever to do that mision even with too ace and one was and still is the best pilot on the server . We finnally got it they do not follow you teh two stuck together and had some nasty crossfire.

circle the other side of your NPC support forcing them into fight first.


second clear out all fighters insuring all NPC's on gunboats


third always tail an NPC in by 50 ish metre's


forth pummel as best you can aiming for weapon 0 cause you will automatically progress through guns


fifth (done with forth each run) boost away as soon as sheilds splashed with fire but always get at least one volley on target

As above, take out all fighers first so the NPC's are focusing on the gunboat.

Strafe them, aim for engine and corkscrew your way towards it, hit it with a volley, cap to shield shunt as you pass it, boost away, wait for cap and droid to charge up, repeat (MkIII concussion Missles also help as well)

Then once engine is down take them out from 550m at your leisure.

They also have a blindspot underneath and towards the back but getting to that spot if the gunboat is spinning is a bit tricky.

Or as I did on helping a friend do this mission, get an ace who has a krayt with the biggest guns and armour they can find to just pummel them to death while you take out the fighers.

i just did this mission a few days ago and i had an imp ace who used bombar strike 3 on them. works like a charm

Definitely let the second wave go and get the 12 fighter, one gunboat spawn. The two gunboats were a bear, but it was fairly easy with the modified spawn. I think only one of my allied ships got destroyed. I took out the fighters first and then finished off the gunboat. Much easier without two gunboats pounding on you when you get close.
