I got fed up with calculating the DPS of my space weapons by hand so I programmed a little script to do it for me. I hope this is of use to other people:
Feedback is welcome

May want to add a Calc for Mass and Energy per shot. At least, *I* find those numbers important.

What numbers are you interested in? Damge per second per mass unit? Energy used per second? Damage made per energy used? Not quite sure

Energy per second and dps per mass are good starts. damage per second over energy per second would be another nice one. But I find dps/mass to be a decent gauge of efficiency in a tight mass fighter. Less so in a larger ship like a B or a heavy X.

how about you also serve us some chilled champagne, with sundaes, and then a nice full therapy massage. that will be good.

Done. Hope my formulas are correct
As for the champagne, I'd love to have some too, thank you

Really nice work here, Hactar, I'll see if I can insert this into the FAQ somewhere. Useful little tool.

I'll say, damn.
My 2960-5237 does 8372.9 DPS vs. Armor and 8610.9 vs. Shields.
Any way to put in a radio button system to calculate the damages and effectivenesses POST Weapon Overload, AND to find out how much a drain on a specific weapon is WHEN overloaded?
As it is though - even though we don't have them anymore - *****

Hello Hector,
This is excellent. Really helps visualize what each gun is doing. One thought, could you add an option to choose the number of guns on the ship, and provide the entry boxes for all possible guns per ship, then sub total those guns together?
For instance, my Heavy X-Wing has 3 weapon slots. I have Weapon 1) 33kmass, 19-32kdamange (.902vS, .120vA), .26eps, .35rfr; Weapon 2) 32kmass, 20-36kdamage (.120vS, .910vA), .265eps, .35rfr; and Weapon 3) 14kmass, 16-26kdamage (.900vS, .200vA,), .24eps, .35rfr.
What would be cool is to see this graphicaly displayed showing the Damage Per Shield per Shot, Damage Per Armor Per shot, Etc... for the ship as well as for each weapon like you have currently....
Excellent stuff, this should be in the Pilot Guide!

Thank you, glad its of use, ive seen the first forum posts using it
As for the suggested addition, I want to keep this tool simple and quick, but I will add an "advanced tab" next week which will allow you to choose overloads and enter multiple guns.
