uhhhhh.......no. Now is there a reasonable suggestion on how much a Y-8 should be selling for??

is the Y-8 the only ship that can mine? or can you mount the mining lasers on any ship?

you can mount mining lazers on any ship personaly id say you were beter off putting your mining lazer and tractor beam into a bub 22 which is alot faster and beter for chasing down resources and escaping from bandits
however the y-8 is realy cool inside and posibaly the nicest pob ship [although not grate for fighting in]
as for the original question on my server you should get around 5mill for the y-8 maby more atm as its imposibal to finish the mission for it

I have seen upwards to 12.5 mil on vendors. Is this standard of just way too high for a ship few can get hold of?

it realy depends on your server, i play on a euro server and would not pay 12 mill for it.. adk only sell for 10 mill and although the y8 quest is currently broken id expect it to get fixed sometime soon personaly for 12mill id wait it out

It's a big, if somewhat useless ship. It can't mine and it has no loot box. There is one forward firing gun, but you can't really see outside the ship very well from the pilot position. It is hard to decorate since objects cannot be moved up or down once you drop them. The turrets have poor firing arcs too.

It does have a nice conference room on the command deck though.

I know people who mine in there long probe or x-wing ......me myself i have heard that the y-8 is a novelty item and thats it i myself am thinking about tossing a mineing laser on my nova or falcon of course i would need a crew but hey thats what quildies are for

Best ships for mining are any that have 3 pilot controlled weapon slots,
one for laser one for tractor and one for a blaster for those pesky asteroid bandits.
