Thread: Space travel problem please help a noob!!

** I want to start off by saying this problem only started happening after I plugged in a controller in the USB portto play Madden 06 if this helps any.
Anyway I launch into space like normal and immediately my problem starts. There are two modes I toggle between using my alt key. The first one is cursor mode and the other is the mode where you can steer your ship. Well no matter what mode I shift into using the alt key I can only look around inside my ship. Its bizarre and it just started happening to me. Is there way I can set the controls so my target reticule will be locked into place and I can steer my ship????

This problem is cuased from targeting something, and hitting Num Lock. It sets it so your camera is always facing your target. This might be becuase of plugging the controler into the port, for it may have somehow changed something with the targeting. Try hitting Num Lock, if that doesnt help, I don't know what else to suggest.

I believe there is a setting in the Options about what type of controller to use. Something about Auto Detect vs. Use Mouse, I'm at work right now but once I get home and get in the game I could give a more precise name of the option. Anyways there is an option about autodetecting which controller to use for space, if you set it to mouse then it will basically ignore your gamepad/joystick.
