Thread: Possible bug with the Imperial Inquisition Tier 4 Trainer preventing advancement

I've just got my first Tier 4 skill box and am currently a 4333 Imperial Pilot but am having seriously trouble advancing because of what I fear may be a quest bug.
The mission I get is to just patrol the Dathomir system. It seems fine when I go to Dathomir and get a waypoint, go there get another waypoint, go there get a third (and final) waypoint. When I approach the third waypoint a YT-1300 transport appears, I believe the name was "Crystal Runner", as soon as I pass through the third waypoint it says Mission Successful and nothing happens; no new objectives; no new messages; no active quests in my quest journal.
I am sure there is something wrong as the FIRST time I took the mission it did ask me to inspect the YT-1300 and dock with it. However I accidentally got a little heavy on the firepower the first time and blew the YT-1300 up by mistake.
Now its not like failing a mission is the end of the game or ever has been before. So I went back to the Grand Inquisitor, he has his little bit of text and shouts at you, then gives you the mission again. But now whenever I get to that third waypoint... nothing. Like I said; no new objectives.
I've tried inspecting, disabling, docking with the YT-1300 but nothing. When I dock it transfers to me some Glowing Crystals but doesn't tell me what to do with them, there are no new objectives, or anything.
I am sure it must be a bug as it doesn't even claim that I have Mission Failed. Usually if you leave the system and have not completed the mission it says you have failed; here it doesn't. The quest journal just stays as is and claims I have completed the, unbelievably short mission. The Trainer however insists I have failed and continues to give me the mission over.
Help would be GREATLY appreciated. I really do hope this isn't a bug as I don't want to have to grind out those first three tiers all over again...

What happens is that you get through the patrol missions too quickly and the final mission doesn't spawn. Try going slowly through the patrol. Then when you get to the final WP stop. It can take a couple of seconds for you to get the mission. The mission is to disable and investigate/dock with the crystal runner. After you finish that there is more mission to go

i never completed this quest once. every time id get the 1mil xp, goto the trainer, go back to dath, fly throught the wp's and leave the yt alone. i didnt even know it was part of the mission till i read this thread. im ace now btw, so it doesnt prevent advancement. just keep grinding.

Same here - only the three waypoints ever. And I waited a bit there all the time. Killed the YT close each time as well. In the end I amde ace, but got no reward at all during tier 4. Evens out, I guess.

I am having this same issue, even when I leave the YT alone I still get mission failed when I go back to train, I am currently at 4333 with over 1 million XP. I have tried disabling and docking with the YT as well with the same out come. I have flown this mission over 50 times trying different things each time; however the trainer will not give me the option to train, he only tells me that I have failed the mission and to try again, any advice on how to get passed this short of starting over?

I think it's bugged. The same thing happened to me. I posted this on Tiggs' Live Issues thread about 1 or 2 weeks ago but I don't know if it is being looked into. I already mastered though because I did the same thing as Namen_Xenomi. The problem with finishing all tier 4 by just meeting the xp requirement (and training) is that you don't get the nice reward shield and cannon. I might have to do Black Epsilon or Storm squadron just to get those rewards.

I didn't seem to have any problems with this mission. After docking with it I got jumped by a bunch of fighters. This must be part of the mission, guest you have to destory them all. I did leave the YT-1300 along after docking with it. Was going to go back and destory it but it got its guns back online by then. lol

I thought all tier 4 missions were duty missions...
As soon as you get 1 mill xp you can train, and you can end duty at any time, as long as you quit before a spawn.
I am a reb, but I'm also 3433 and grinding out my levels.

I currently do have enough XP to train to the next level, I even got the message that I now qualify for... however I do not get the option to train from the trainer. When I talk to the trainer I get 3 options something like I'll try again, I wont fail you this time, and stop conversing.

I had the same problem ... I think it caused when you die during the mission or somehow mess it up.
It is a bug.
CSR_ChrisG fixed it for me after several other CSRs could not fix it. I met him at the Emperor's Retreat ... he transported both of us to some safe spot on Corellia where I started shooting noob creatures while waiting ... a few minutes of his magic, he took us back, I got the mission ... he followed me for the mission in his YT-1300 ... I met up with a friend ... did the mission and it worked fine.
