Hey everyone,

Well I'm new to the whole piloting thing and I had a couple questions. I was curious if freelance pilot is any good and if not, should I go rebel or Imp? I want this to be fun and if freelance pilots dont get to PvP that kinda sucks.

Also I was curious, with whichever pilot tree I go up, what boxes should I tackle first? Should I go for components or ships or the other boxes? I guess I am asking which boxes should I get first to make piloting easier for me?

Thanks!

I earned my boxes in the following order (I left out the boxes I didn't feel mattered much):

Tier 1
Ship
Components
Droid commands

Tier 2
Components
Droid commands

Tier 3
Components
Droid commands
Ship

Tier 4
Ship
Components
Droid commands

I only used the Dunelizard up through tier 4 when I started using a Rihk. Those two ships were sufficient enough to last me through to master pilot.

Now that the heavy variant Scyk is available I probably would have used it exclusively as far as I could which I hope would be most of tier 4 if not all the way to master pilot. I haven't had a chance to use a heavy variant yet to put one through the paces to see how far they can be pushed.

Great. Thanks for the reply. What about alignment? Should I go rebel or imp? I would kinda like to fly the yt-1300 but also the JSF.

I am a Corsec Freelance Master and it is good. The advantage I have is that I can attack either side. I can declare Rebel or Imp when I want to go PVP. There is also a slight advantage to being able to fire the first shot in PVE. I do not get agroed by either faction until I start the attack. There is also the advantage of having twice as many targets when you grind the XP boxes. lol

Go freelance, but on Corellia. They can shoot anything except CorSec. Tatooine freelance can't shoot Hutts, Naboo freelance can't shoot RSF or Imperials.

Tatooine maybe can't shoot rebels. Not sure.

Alright. And I'm currently doing missions from Coronet. What about the best ship? If I'm doing PVP I would like to have access to the best ship possible

Faction choice is up to you as a free lance... only thing that will be influenced is if you can do teh Jedi Starfighter mission (Imperial only) or the ARC-170 mission (Reb only).. no matter what faction you choose you will also get the Vaksai fighter. Belballus (sp) I don't know about.

But as he person above said I flew the Dunelizard, then the Rhykx. Dunelizard is an awesome littl fighter. I find it comparable in everyway to the Imperial TIE Advanced which htey get near the end of their flying career and you get right near the start.

It's all about the Kimo!! Put in a fast engine in the Kimo, then overcharge it and that baby handles like a dream! Way more punch than the Dunelizard, almost as manuverable and much nicer to fly than the Rhyk.

They can be pushed pretty far. I've been working on tweaking and toying with mine for a while... With time, I figure I might be able to at least make it comparable to my vaksai, though I had to give up some shield hitpoints and recharge rate to get the thing up and running.

I should probably drop the level 9 RE'd gun for something lower mass like one of the reward guns you get for tier 4 pilot or from the wookiee dancer in Kachirho after you save Rroot now that the quest is fixed. Still doesn't beat a nice RE'd level 10 gun like you can fit in the vaksai, though.

So if I go freelance I can attach rebel players and imp players?

also, if I am master freelance and I switch to imp or rebel will I lose all my xp?

Thanks

Oooooh yes we can! *goes to tear the belly out of another Rebel gunboat*

And as a freelance you can declare in space whatever your ground faction is for PvP.If you have a ground faction.

So basically, if your a rebel on the ground you can declare that in space and fly any freelance ship and attack imps, thats cool .

How would I get myself one of those jedi starfighters? Also, what lvl do I have to be to fly one?
