I read in another post that if you are a Rebel and do the ARC quest you can then unpack a Jedi Starfighter deed. That is the first time I had heard of that.

Is that true or do you need to do the specific quest in order to unpakc the JSF or the ARC-170?

If the thread you're referring to is the one I'm thinking of, then it began by asking exactly the same question you did. Why begin a new thread on it, just to repeat? It's a rumor, nothing more until a reliable report comes in.

Thanks for the sanctimonious response. The thread I saw was on the Quest & Mission board and there was no confirmation on whether this works. I posted in this forum because there is a long post about how to quickly re-grind Rebel pilot if you want to drop it in order to do the JSF quest. I figured that anyone willing to jump through all of those hoops would have tried to do the ARC quest first, so I was hoping this was a better place to get an answer.

Given the current abyssmal performance of the search function on these forums, I think that you can get off you f-ing high-horse and cut people some slack on a possibly redundant post.
