how do you make money in space i just bought the JTL expansion and i was wondering if i was going to be able to make money in space to finance my habits on both the ground and above, it seems teh credit chit cannot be spent.

Click on the credit chip, you'll get an option to transfer the credits to your bank account. You can also sell loot you gain to the Chassis Vender, or your local shipwright.

For pilots (and characters) just beginning, there are 3 NPCs in Tatoo space that offer short strings of missions. The payouts total 45k per NPC.they are a great source of early cash.
Freelance pilots often receive cash instead of faction points when completing missions. Something to think on.
When grinding, Duty missions are recommended, since in addition to xps, kill cash, and loot, you get mission pay.
Once you are up into tier2, head to Yavin station and do the missions for them, afterwards you have Access to quick work there, and the Destroy Duty is a very good way to earn cash, parts, and xps.
It is VERY easy to use Space to pay for a character. Heck I use Space income to pay for a City.
