Thread: What Are the Good Neutral Ships?
I greatly preferred my Rihk over the Krayt, even as master. The two ships I used as a Freelance were the Dunelizard and Rihk. The Vaksai seemed nice, but I didn't keep Freelance long to play with it much.

The rhix was a standard back before the Krayt was introduced. Many pilots still use one to get to master, instead of shaving mass and collecting high end parts to keep a dunelizard competitive. The Krayt owns all as a master ship, one of the best ships in the game, of any faction, RotW ships included.
Completely agree!!!
Have killed player A wing pilots in my krayte. Even if you don't use the turret on the krayte you get mroe amss for the guns with the same hardpoints as the Rhy. I use my Rhy to mine now.
For grinding I used a Lizard then Ix then Rhy. But I have a lot of connections and could get what ships I wanted. If you ahve only one more chasis you want to get I would get the RHy to level with. More firepower and the only thing the Lizard has over it is teh throttle setting for the best turning. A good engine can compensate for the YPR of teh Rhy chasis.
Yeah I'm a true heavy Fighter Pilot. Got a JSF and didn't like it, so back in my Krayte.
My personal opinions on all the ships:
Scyk (High Mass): Nice in that it has a smaller prophile than all the other standard privateer ships, and 95+k mass makes it an interesting ship to fit, but... I don't know. I can't seem to find a fit that I'm happy with in this ship.
Dunelizard: One of the best ships out there. Handles like an a-wing witha bettermass and more guns, guns are decently placed, and the style 1 is dead sexy to boot. With careful reverse engineering jobs and sacrificing some armor, you can make this girl sing for you. The only reason a privateer shouldn't have a dunelizard is if s/he picked up a JSF or Bel-22.
Kimogilla: Controls are sluggish, though it does have an impressive mass for its level. Not much to reccomend it later on down the line, as at master it is completely replaced by the krayt.
Kihraxz: I really want to like this ship. The guns are placed rather poorly... you have to adjust your ship to an awkward angle to hit things. If youfire at a ship with your nose pointing straight at it, bolts will harmlessly fly to either side. But it handles like a dream, but has some serious mass problems.Longtime imperial pilots would have problems fitting one of these. This was solved to a silly degree by the...
Vaksai: A light fighter that can fit almost entirely level 8-10 gear? The huge mass leaves it with onlytwo downsides: the one gun, the large prophile for a light fighter.
Ixiyen: Trash. Don't buy this, don't fly this. It has a single advantage over the dunelizard. 10k mass. Its gun placement leaves something to be desired. It is less maneuverable than the x wing, has less mass, and has a GIANT SQUARE HITBOX, which gives it the distinction of the only ship that a kihraxz/vaksai can hit nose on without needing to bother to align itself.
Rihxyrk: Handles like a brick swimmingin a sea of Jell-O. It can bring some devastating firepower, of course, but it, like the kimogila, is replaced by the...
Krayt: If you are into the heavy ships, this is the thing to fly. Handling of the kimogila and 20k more mass than the Rihxyrk, all rolled up into a package the size of the kimogila. Add to that the turret, and you really have no reason to fly either of the heavies.
Firespray: Another heavy fighter. One less SP gun, more ordinance. Being the closest thing that the privateers have to a bomber ship (random note: I'd take back what I said about the ixiyen if they just gave it another ordinance slot), you can find some use for this. If you can afford it, as, well... You can by a Belbullab for less.
