Thread: Problems with the ETA-2
you're using all overload fours and not Deep space repairing?
If this is the case...then your ship is going to decay and wither very very fast.
If you're not master yet use overload 3's only.
Second: EO4 makes your engine use 10 times of normal energy. Yes, 10 times. If your engine says 2000 energy usage, you need 20,000 just for the engine after EO4.
Thats most likely the reason it shuts down your ship.
RO4 produces 90% more energy, your 15k reactor is producing about 28.5k then I would say.
Now you can do the maths for your components yourself and see if you have enough energy.
"I have 4k free and it worked with 150 before", sorry is not enough, if you use a different engine now.

This is a bug that resulted from running the Overloads.
First, the explanation. When you ran the Overloads, your Reactor couldn't take it. Please don't say that it could, because your ship proves that it could not. If you think I'm wrong, go find some specific info about what EO4 (already given) and WO4 do compared to what RO4 does, and you should see that the 4k was not nearly enough. When the Overloads were run and shut your ship down, something happened that tagged the Chassis/Engine combination as having EO4 running, even after you landed.
What has to happen is that the Chassis/Engine combo has to realize that EO4 is not running. You can unload the ship, deed it, generate it, and outfit again which should solve the problem. Otherwise, you can launch the ship and run a Pilot Special Ability which resets any EO program running (EThrust, maybe EShields, etc). If you do not have one of those available to you, go back to the "deed" option.
Once you have things back to normal, be more careful about running EO4 and WO4 at the same time. While there are low Drain Engine/low Drain Weapons/high Gen Rate Reactor combos that *can* handle RO4/EO4/WO4, it is uncommon and testing to see if yours can handle it should be done carefully. If you do test the Overloads again, be prepared to run an EThrust/etc or to re-deed the ship.

Actually I've found WO4 and EO4 HIGHLY overrated and wasteful of energy regardless of pilot level or ship type.
Your problem is definitely caused by the overloads. I had the same problem once with my ship shortly after JTL came out.
Stick to WO3 and EO3 I'd say... get a pair of good RE weapons in the thing firing in tandem and you'll be a meat grinder.
Krendor, not really sure you read Sheena's reply but it was pretty much laid out there.
If you use EO4, then you probably needed more then 4k extra reactor juice to run WO4, CO4 as well and your ship became bugged out when you did.
Running the lvl 3 overloads likely overwrote the bugs and now everything should be set right. Probably best before you try to use EO4, or any of the lvl 4 overloads, that you do the math on your reactor/engine drain to avoid this happening again.
