Thread: I think they shifted the timeline on us...
We must be back in the days of the onld republic. I haven't seen a single PvP player in space that wasn't in some Actis/bellub/jsf whatever thing. Its starting to grate my nerves just a little that I can't blast any TIEs cause apparently the 20 year old ship design is so much better than the more Recent apperently nerfed standard imperial fighters.
Can't blame the players either that the Dev team decided that Space needed a 'Jedi' Type Chassis thats better than anything else out there. So I guess should jump on the bandwagon and get an ARC so we can re-enact the clone wars?
Well.. 20 years isn't that old really.. lok at the A-6 intruder, F15, F14, F-111... etc...
But, that being siad I prefer to fly.... Oppresor, Firespray, RG TIE, Hvy TIE, Aggresor, and Y-8 over the JSF/Grievous.
Don't get me wrong, they're good and fun little ships. But for me I still prefer those I listed above. I'm also finding more and more pilots are shifting away from the EP-3 vessels at least in PvP.

Something to remember, a JsF is a small 'light' ship. Most Pilots flying them are going to go for speed over everything. The best way to deal with a JsF, A-Wing is use a missile. Due to pvp the way it is now, and due to the fact that I've seen alot of JsF's without things like armor, a missile of any kind can be a killer.
All the more reason I ALWAYS armor my ships.
I'm not a runner, either - so stow the "speed" comment.

Didn't say I coulnd't kill them. Jus that I'm already tired of seeing them in lieu of ships that are actually in production in this time frame.
If it means TIEs have to be upgraded slightly so that imp pilots have a reason to use them then so be it. These republic ships are old and theres a reason they're no longer in use in the Imperial Navy (story wise anyway)
90k mass teir 1 tie fighter sounds like a good upgrade to me
and yes I must admit that I do enjoy the play of the Jedi starfighter, mostly becuase I'm used to flying as a freelance ace, and the interceptor's shot's do not hit a center point like my Freelance shots do.
But I have always been a big fan of big and heavy (I'm an ex Football lineman)
Yeah on ahazi more of the real aces at least for pvp fly the old school ships. I'm currently a Rebel on both servers and I have all the EP-III ships, I use the A-Wing for pvp as Vegitaa is well aware of.
I actually had my first pvp loss, it was to a JSF, with a buddy of mine piloting. So what didI do? I came back and kicked his backside. I've shot down at least 10 Buba-22's and a few JSFs but now I hardly seem them pvp active. All the new ships are nowhare near the game brakers they were made out to be. I even had a Imperial knock my skill because I had an uber A-Wing and they are far better then gimped imperial ships ![]()
In the (hopfully near) future it would be nice to see all the old ships get a boost in either mass, weapon slots or handling. but knowing the devs, they'll probably just nerf the jsf behond any use.
Personally, I've gotten bored of my JSF, there was no challenge when using it, its currently re-deeded back in my JTL storage building.
I'm now using my new KSE Firespray ship for PvE. so many options with ~210k mass. I'd like to see this ship get a third weapon slot, but 2 high level weapons and 2 ordenance is enough atm.
All three of those ships are quickly coming out of favor on my server at least. They're great for Newbie Aces that can't fly so good (gives them a needed edge in PvP) but if they come up against a Vet in just about any other ship they tend to lose quickly.
Why would a JSF/Grievous lose so quickly against a Vet in a bigger/slower/heavier ship? All those lil snub-fighters have crap for engines and armour. Thats the first thing most people skimp on when managing mass on those ships. A vet knows, "If I can survive the first pass.. they won't!"
