i finally got my heavy x wing, and am quite proud of it. i was cruising around kicking butt, and got swarmed and took damage. now my chasis shows 1997/1997 when it used to be 2000/2000

is there no way to repair this to full when it gets damaged? or am i doomed, to one day, just have the thing crumble to dust under me. When it does, how do i get another one?

It will never decay to below 10 HP. So don't sweat it too much.

At which point it becomes a kind of flying bomb. Once your shields are gone, one hit to the chassis and boom. But since there's no BF or wounds anymore, I guess it doesn't really matter except for the wear and tear on your other components.

The other option would be to just save the irreplaceable ships for Deep Space work only. (Kinda' silly, I know... but I hate loosing things.)

Yeah, i sort of follow this guideline too. At least when i'm out for PvP. I'll reserve my JSF pretty much for deepspace of "low-risk" situations. I almost got annialated by the vette in kessel in my heavy x-wing b/c i made a dumb mistake, so that was a wakeup call that i should be more careful. I also snuck up on an unsuspecting yt-1300 and turned him into space dust, whether or not he was loaded w/ passengers, i dont know, but the lack of a response via his cannons led me to believe. But had the ship have been manned by an attentive crew, it could have been an interesting moment. Kinda annoyed me when no one came back to retaliate, whether it had been in the yt again, or a few fighters...nothing
