For a crew of 3-5 to opporate even with almost endless mass and level 10 parts Reverse Engineered up they dont seem to hold up long enough. They are lots of fun to use. But unless the crew maning it is low level or odd faction for the mission you would be stronger in individual ships. With 2 shields you might be able to take enough of a beating to increase use and justify the crew. Seems they should be able to act like a command ship for a small attack force of players. Just my thoughts.

Well not sure if 2 reactors is needed but fixing guns forward would be nice although i dont see it happening. Sompthing needs to be done though the multi ships just are not usefull enough.

I do think multiplayer ships should have a second shield. I'm not sure on the second reactor though. There needs to be some sort of tradeoff for equipping a second shield on the ship(even though it is a master level ship). It isn't like you couldn't power a 2 shield multiplayer ship with an 18k reactor and, worst case, a reactor overload. You would have to limit yourself to few, or none, other droid overload commands, but it would be a fair tradeoff.
As for the fixing the guns forward thingy, I don't think it would work. Sure, you could do it, but if you've ever flown a multiplayer ship, you'd know you would be asking for trouble
They just turn, accelerate, and stop too slow to be able to fight like that. You really need to have, at least, one gunner or just not take the ship out.
One other thingy that does need mentioning is, the co-pilot really needs more to do. If you happen to have one, for the most part they just sit there. Thats ok for some, but it can be pretty boring too. The ship component and weapon group menus really need to be co-pilot screens, not pilot ones. Co-pilots should also probably be in charge of either changing missile groups, or even firing missiles themselves.
As it stands right now, all the co-pilot does is, on rare occassions, use a special command or droid command, then sits there the rest of the time or, if you only have 4 people, runs around repairing the ship too. It just isn't very fun as a co-pilot right now *shrug*

Yes to second sheild, and second reactor....
My Nova is up to 389K in parts or so, this would get me closer to my 500K and actually afford the darn thing a purpose. Other than good times it would be great times!

Yes they should.
Also, to 'Tess--it is very possible to dogfight in a multiplayer ship. With even a single gunner in one turret I can dogfight against B, Y or X-wings in my Decimator. The gunner aims forward and anticipates the turning by following the target being chased. It's really only A-wings that we can't get a bead on using this technique. With two gunners it's even better.
It's not perfect, of course, but with a high-PYR engine it's possible.
This is another case where I wish the Developers would just watch the actual movies. In RETURN OF THE JEDI, there's no indication that Lando has gunners in the turrets of the Millenium Falcon. He is firing lasers that come from the front of the ship.
The developers know that this is a game based on these movies, right? Why didn't they give us at least one gun firing forward. It would be nice to be able to flight in a multiplayer ship flying solo.
EDIT: Also, I agree that a co-pilot is sadly a pretty useless position. I hardly ever go out with more than three people in my Decimator. If we take damage, one of the gunners repairs it. I just can't see asking somebody to come sit in my ship and watch us fight on the off chance I need to adjust my shield settings or something.
Another thing we DO need is a status box with icons for each of the positions on the multiplayer ship: Pilot, Ops, Weapon 1 and Weapon 2. This status box would show if that position is manned, who is in it, and would give some kind of feedback on whether it's being used. The Weapon 1 and 2 icons would blink or pulse if the weapon is being fired.
Han or Lando could simply look to their right and see if somebody is in the co-pilot seat. As a pilot of a multiplayer ship in JTL, I literally cannot tell if my ship is being manned or not. I'd have to stand up from the pilot seat to see if somebody is at Ops. This isn't right.
Also, being able to reload missiles and countermeasures from within would give an ENORMOUS boost to the usefulness of a multiplayer ship.
O.

Double-check your mass on that Nova. All the MP ships I have made have 5 MILLION mass

Do you use a joystick? If so you can use your mouse to change your view and actually look around inside your ship while piloting a MP ship, I can stay 1st person and see if the Ops chair is manned and if the top turret is manned (by watching to see if it fires thru the dome on the deci)

Atm i wouldn't take my nova into pvp or even against a SD (my a-wing as blown up both a SD and decimator they both need a upgrade).
