Thread: How long will the 'vette sit disabled in space?

Last night I was helping with the 30 TIEs master mission. Got a tell asking for Star Ravager help. We eventually went over there, picked off the fighter escort and laid into the 'vette. We got it disabled while the guy doing the 30 TIEs finished up, went back to Corellia to get the 'vette mission and came back for the final kill. It must have sat disabled for at least 10 minutes waiting for him to come back to Kessel. I thought for sure it would have self-destructed well before he got back.
Anyone have any idea how long it'll sit and wait?

in deep space vettes will sit until the server reboots or an eventual spawn happens by to destroy them. i've seen vettes in kessel sit for more than 20 minute so i assume it's the same, but i do not know for sure.

The vette does not follow the traditional 2-3 minute disabled = self destruct. It stays until someone blows it, or the server resets. That's also why you have to kill the gunboat escorts too, so it will respawn.

If this is true, then this "hurry it's going to self destruct" bit ranks right up there with "you have to do damage to the corvette to get the mission completed" as a myth I've heard innumerable times in corvette groups.

Thats how suicide soloist kill the vette the just keep coming back after repairs till the take it down Only works in off peak hours tho or some one wanders in and kills it.

I actually witnessed this first-hand yesterday... I was finishing up my privateer ace, and was halfway through my 30 ships, and the vette spawned. Since I didn't want to wait hours for it to come back, I went ahead and disabled it. I then proceeded to finish my 30 ships (while asking all the other player ships in the sector with me to wait to destroy lol), went back and got the destroy mission, about 45 mins later..., and came back to Kessel and sure enough it was still sitting there waiting for me to blast a hole in the front window
