Thread: Multi Ace Query

I've been reading the multi ace threads and FAQ and can't quite figure this out. I am a freelance pilot about to hit the flight artistry box flying for Corsec. If I wish to become a smugglers alliance ace, or any other neutral faction ace,do I have to surrender all my skill boxes and rework them with the new faction or can I simply do themissions for the new faction? The FAQ only describes changing "capital F" factions, ie Imperial to Rebel. I was looking forward to getting multiple aces but I can't imagine getting my YT cert and then giving it up.

Thanks

Sorry, but that is exactly what you need to envision. You cannot change squadrons, any of the 9, without giving up any skills/certifications you already possess.

I am working on my third ace right now, and I gotta tell you, it really is much easier after you knock that first ace out of the way. Not only is it a smoother and faster ride because of the xp bonus, but since you already have some decent equipment stocked up, the missions are much easier. I myself waited until I had a nice supply of low level RE'ds parts and it helped immensely. Stuff like RE'd level 3 weapons and shields, and level 5 stuff when I hit tier 2. I remember the SW looking at me funny when I handed this stuff to him, hehe. But the preparation worked. My second ace took me all of a week to get, and its not like I was grinding several hours a day doing it.

But you only get a bonus for mastery of one squad in each faction for a total of 3 bonuses....

  • Do all 3 Privateer squads (no other faction pilot masters) +1 bonus

  • Do 1 privateer squad THEN switch to Imp then you get +2. After that switch to Rebel and you get +3. And +3 for any squad after that.

So to the original poster, you will get NO bonus for going CorSec Master then to SA.....

Actually...I'm not quite sure that's true. Seeing as how he's qualified in one faction already (Freelance), he should be entitled to one bonus. However, on completion of the 2nd squad, he doesn't receive any futher bonus, until he changes faction.

Also, another great thing about staying in-faction, is you can deck out a ship with high level loot, and drop your current squad (keep the ship in your datapad). Go to the new squad, and when you get that ship's certification again, you can fly it with the uber loot still inside it
