It can't be totaly destroyed. It will only drop to 10/10 hp. But in aswer to your question, you can buy them, or have them given to you. I have just ben given a spare, for helping a mate do other misisons, as he's Frelance he can't use it, but could still get the mission Weird eh?

It cannot ever decay to the point of uselessness.

Shipwrights really need a "repair chassis" tool or something. Make it like an armour repair kit so it'll fix your chassis to almost full health but drop its max condition by a couple of points every time you use it.

It's not a problem for x-wings, tie's, kimogilla's etc. cos you can just buy another chassis but for quest rewards and that firespray you paid upwards of 8 million for it'd be handy.
