Thread: Help me finish third tier three mission storm squad
It is the one where you escort the shuttle with the fake plans.
Am I just not killing them fast enough? What is the secret to completing this mission?
Brief walkthrough:
1. Dock with shuttle 1 to retrive the plans
2. Fight (or hype around) a few waves of fighters between waypoints
3. Dock with Shuttle 2 to give them the plans
4. Kill 6 rebel fighters
5. Escort shuttle with the fake plans and kill at least 4 waves of fighters
This is where I am stuck. Waves of 1 B-wing and 4 A-wings attack the shuttle. My method is to takeout the B-wing then work on the A-wings. I disable the A-wings and fly back to the shuttle between each fighter so I don't get too far from the shuttle. I get through about 7 waves of fighters before the shuttle hypes out and I get the fail message. The message says that I did a good job but I did not complete my assignment and the rebels were not fooled.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

If you don't stay within range of your target (try to stay within 1,000km,) there's a chance that the ship will give up on you, and get the hell out of there. Could be it (or could be a gazillion other things.) Are there any messages?
The message I get when it fails says something like I did a good job but I did not complete the task I was given.
If this is the mission for Capt. Denner to escort the engineer transport....it totally BLOWS.
Defending the 1st transport is cake, simple disable the reactors of all enemy ships. Trying to destroy them is time consuming.
Capturing the 2nd transport that is under reb control is no prob either. Escorting this one however can be problematic if you encounter tier 4 X-wing static spawns along the escort route.

...but just when you think you're done, you get hit with a bevy of missions. I think 3-4 add'lonesthat have you flying all over the damnplace that finish with you trying to deliver some coded message.
That was the toughest part for me trying to do thissolo. There's too many fighters and I got destroyed in a matter of minutes.
All in all, this is the worst space mission I've undertaken so far. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to near completion and I'm still not even sure I made it to the end.
I'd like to seewhoever designed this stupid mission a)solo it as a 2nd tierpilot or b) find ppl who are willing to help you on a mission that takes wellover an hour to complete.

That mission sounds like the first mission in tier three.
The trick is to survive after the transport hypes out and all of the fighters turn on you. I finished it using an escape macro that hypes me to the point next to the space station. There is a good esacpe macro that is linked to the pilot FAQ, just remember that you can not hyoe out of Endor space.

a) Not meant to be soloable (even tho some did it)
b) a helpful active guild usually does the trick here

You are most likely getting too far from the ship you are escorting.
I have found a way to solo this and any other escort with endless back to back waves of ships. You need to be fast and agile (use the Overload droid commands). your objective is to get all the fighters to chase you and not the escort ship. I only take the time to incap the ships that will shoot missiles atme (Kimogilla,Kryat, y-wings, b-wings, tie bombers and opressors). with all the ships in tow weave around the escort ship. Many of the enemy ships will break off persuit when they have reached some distance past the point where they spawned. At most you are dodgeing fire from 4 waves.

Having the same problem you are man, knock out all the ships, several waves and them get a "mission failed" message.
I even thought it had something to do with getting to far away from the poser ship but that didn't work either. I have tried it 5 times and tried it differently each time, not sure what is wrong.

Yep, So long as they are trying to shoot you they are not doing damage to the ship you are escorting. It's not EZ to do this but it is allot EZer than trying to kill/incap them all and keep up with the escortee.
