Thread: Level 8 gun, need your opinion :)

Hi
Sorry, need your help. I've collected Level 8 guns to RE my Borstel with and I just can't decide if I should continue to search or RE it.
The stats of the gun how it would be AFTER RE: (the pre-RE stats are in brackets)
647.8 Armor (617)
735.8 HPs (700)
2046.6 Reactor drain (2046.6)
26243.2 Mass (27624.4)
2506.3 Min damage (2387)
3875.5 Max damage (3691)
0.68 Eff. vs Sheild (0.646)
0.69 Eff. vs Armor (0.654)
13.4 Energy/shot (14.1)
0.38 Refire rate (0.405)
Min/Max Damage and Energy/Shot are obviously from the borstel all others from other guns.
And yeah, the Armor decayed a bit already
I'm just not sure how good this is, and if I should keep searching to reach 0.7 eff e.g. or if that's all but impossible.
Or lower mass, or or or...

Mass can be better. I've had 24k UnREed, heard as low as 23k Pre-RE.
Effs are very nice, i've seen as high as 0.660 Pre-RE but those are very respectable
Refire can go as low as 0.370 (i have one myself), but 0.380 is very decent.
Personally the only think i thing there is room for reasonable improvement is the mass. 25k UnREed L8's aren't terribly hard to find, and with a little more searching, you'll find one sooner than later.
Effs are very nice, i've seen as high as 0.660 Pre-RE but those are very respectable

Yep, go for a better mass. everything else is really nice.I wish i had a lvl 8 gun with refire rate under .4.

I looted a 25.1k level 8 last night. I also looted a level 8 gun with .670 vs armor, itll RE to over .700 If im lucky.

.700 / 1.05 = 2/3 so you'll need .667 or higher. Though these tend to be a pain to find, and I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping my next gun will have a .667 or greater vs. shields.
The cutoff for .69 is a bit easier (at .658--I don't trust in the rounding too much) to attain, and I'd at least hold out for that before I put the gun together.
For mass... I personally own a pre-RElevel 8 gun with under 24k mass, and another with under 23k, though I've only seen/owned three such guns since I started my loot collection.

Mine is exacctly a .667 vs armor actually i checked. Its gonna RE to either .669 or .700 both will be tight though.

Yeah, what the others said. I have 3 RE borstel, all at 24k so they are not all that rare. The reactor drain is also on the high side.

If all you are using it for is the Vs armor stat then load it into a ship and launch to space, land, log out for a while eat dinner and the like, when you log back in and unload it from your ship it will be .670....
