If you're a hardcore Imp and MUST fly a TIE i'd say get the advanced, but if you're just dabbling in imperialism and are looking to change up factions soon after master, then grab a billy-boy 22 (grievous) and use that. They seem to be coming down in price to a managable level if you don't have the friends or the ground-combat ability to get one for yourself.

I'm up to 4443 with nothing but a Heavy TIE. There really isn't a need for another ship as an Imperial. That Heavy TIE will easily serve me up to Ace.

I think in this situation, worth is a relative term. Question is, do you want to contine flying ties? If so, get the Tie Advanced.

Generally speaking, most people will say get the JSF, and they'd be correct in that assesment as the JSF is a superior ship. Well, its superior to just about everything.

From a PvE perspective, you'll learn more about ship outfitting and ship parts from a Tie Advanced, then you would flying JSF.

I do plan on getting an Agressor, so that I can help up and coming pilots in my guild gain xp faster. I'll check out the Advanced, and I have the bellulab-22 already outfitted, but have yet to take it into battle, as I've been concentrating on getting these outfitted. As for Imp, yes, it seems it would be cooler to make Ace in an Imperial craft, but at this point, I'll complete it in ANYTHING, as long as I get ace. I started crashing to desktop while in spaceabout three weeks after JTL launched, and never went back up until I was helping a guildie, and was surprised I made it all the way through without crashing once. So now I'm all fired up!
