Nice engine. And really nice gun. But my CRAFTED Mark V engine beats it: 101 speed, 70 y, 70 p, 60 r.

Is that a POB weapon?

Engine is only average for what the newly crafted ones can achieve these days, but the blaster sure is nice especially at .7+ for the shields.

I don't want to detract from your hard effort, but pound for pound, i'd say the pre-nerf reward engine 92.2 Spd and 63 PYR and 13.5k mass is better than that (for a fighter anyway) Obviously in a MPS, then it would be quite a tastey piece of kit to have. I have a 91.1 spd with 75,72.70 PYR in my Nova. I think it was a lotted engine, i really cant remember at this time. What it does however is make the Nova turn in a sixpence. With 2 4.3k looted laser cannons, she is quite a formidable ship to face, I just need to take her up with a full crew to see exactly how she fairs in "real" testing combat.

For the mass, yeah it's best fitted in a POB, but with the proper RE's.. the mass can come down enough. I was already using a cert10 in my Oppressor/Firespray

Acutally crafted engines are NOT better, not by a longshot. They're too heavy, they have too high of a reactor drain, and the YPR is a bit too low. I'm a master shipwright, i can make myself any one i want to however i want to, and i still wouldn't use one.

That engine you have there will probalby RE out to about 105ish speed or so (rough guess). If youve been saving your parts, you can probably RE the YPR out to at least 74, id aim for 75+ personally. Mass, you can get as low as 23K to 26K on L8 engines. Reactor drain probably down to about 1400-1500.

So im predicting a finished product of around 105 speed, 74YPR, 26K mass, 1500 drain.

That is a schitt hot engine!

Now, my question is, where did you get that engine in your picture there?

Why would you want to turn your nova on a shekel? All your gonna end up doing is having to clean up the gunnery stations of all the vomit.

Nice guns though. In my experience a good engine for a POB ship is to have good roll and yaw. This you can do a correlian cartwheel and make life easier for your gunners cuz they only have to compensate for one large axis change. I find that large pitch changes really mess gunners up. First bonus to this is you reduce your profile for ships your gunners are targeting because your presenting your ship edgewise. Second bonus if your gunnercoordinate they can shoot in the'money lane'(area of space relative to your ship where both guns can hit) to take down hostiles faster.

That'd be one awesome RE. But the idea is to make shipwright engines more practical and able to compete with looted engines. The advantage being that they are far easier and less time consuming to get than uber loot engines. And with the new heavier ships, the 30k + mass shouldn't be much of a problem, which also solves the reactor drain problem too, because you can fit a larger reactor on it.

I agree it will still make a very nice engine, especially with the right engines partnered with it in the RE. I would focus more on the PYR when RE'ing than anything else. and I also would take your time to do it right, it's not often an engine with those stats drop, so take advantage of it, and don't rush it. If you don't have the right comps for it now, don't be afraid to wait for them.

you didnt loot the gun or the engine, you got them as a reward from doing the starmap clone relic quest. funny though, cause my "quantum ion drive" was about 92 speed, why did you get a faster one?

you can easily re this thing for about 75 ypr and undedr 25k on the mass.

anothing thing you get from re that you dont with crafted is a low reactor drain. you would need one MASSIVE reactor to run engine overload 4 with a 2400 drain engine, but with my 1300 drain re engine, i only need a mkI with 12k output
