Thread: YT-1300 mining ship?

Has anyone tried using the YT as a mining platform?

Great mass and guns that have good overlapping fields of fire (mostly).

I don't know how it would work out. I'm a Reb pilot and not a master yet, but I was curious about it.

I really wish there was a way to transfer cargo between player ships. Then you could have your mining fleet with a POB acting as the mobile cargo base making the entire thing more efficient.

FYI: When using any of the POB ships as mining vessels. There is currently a bug (feature?) which makes it so you can only do damage to the asteroid (pulling off chunks) if someone is sitting in the pilots seat.

Otherwise, YT-1300 should work out nicely as a miner. I highly suggest using player crafted mining gear as well. Get a hold of a MK3 mining laser, Tractor beam (if you want too) and Large Cargo Hold (not sure if there is a POB version or just the starfighter/Y8 versions though)
