I don't know guys why you say it has bad handling. I am 200% confident that it turns much better than my Ryhk. And it has a looks to match it. My normal speed is 780, with engine overload 2 I am flying 940 so how can this be slow ? I hope by the end of this weekend I will get to 3433 and load my borstel in. Than this Bomber will be a Destroyer too. BTW it turns best at 350-400 speed for me.

id heard the Ti Bomber was pretty crap before i got it, but i bought one anyway, filled it with good shields, armor loads of weapons and so far ive soloed 3 tier 3 missions in it and ive done them all pretty easily, i love my Bomber

350-400 speed turing is unacceptable. In my TIE advanced my best turning is at 1030 or so (until I equip a real engine). I can easily solo any NPC in the game from a Vette to a a flight of gunboats. In PvP where being able to move around at top speed really matters the TIE bomber is a flying dump truck that WILL get you killed by anyone in a quick ship.

Else, how many weapons can you carry on your TIE Advanced ? What are the shields and armor stats ? Don't give BS, 1000+ turning speed is dumb for NPC combat since none of them fly more than 300 exept for Awings. For PvP advanced is too light and unprotected, Oppressor is a PvP ship. You can solo Vette , umm not without a Bomber Strike. And BTW bomber is not a PvP ship, its a Bomber.

Exactly. It's all a matter of personal preference. A lot of privateer pilots swear by the Krayt with its three guns and high mass, and for the life of me, I can't understand why. I prefer the speed and handling of the Dunelizard, and I'm willing to sacrifice a little firepower and shields for it. To each his own.

PvP is a totally different animal, though. If your ship is slower and less maneuverable, you lose. You can have the shields of the Corvette on your TIE Bomber and it won't matter a bit if I can get behind you and stay there.

The speed, handling, and miniscule silhouette of the Advanced (or the Interceptor, which is what I use for PVP) provide me more protection against other players than the thickest shields or armor would. And while these ships are not terribly efficient at soloing Vettes without bomber strikes, it can be done if you're willing to commit a few minutes to strafing runs, particularly if you're packing some missiles.

High-mass ships are probably better for PVE, but having a ship that can turn most efficiently with a speed of 900-1100 can be very helpful when you're chasing down tier 5 A-Wings, whose max speed is somewhere in the high 900s. Even tier 5 X-Wings fly at 900, I believe. I'm clearly a committed light fighter pilot, but I will admit I miss the firepower and tanking ability of ships like the Bomber and the Krayt, which tear through enemy ships like some kind of huge tearing-machine. That's the thing that impresses me most about JTL: whenever I try to decide which ship is "the best," even for a specific task, I can't do it. There are too many factors, not least of which is piloting style, to ever effectively quantify them.

You're kidding, right? Heavy shielding on a ship might afford you one extra shot in PvP. MP ships take maybe three before Boomsville.

The Advanced gets its protection in PvP from its nimbleness - *some* people just never work in jinking into their flight routine.

Pilotting style is a big part of it. I also like speed and handling style of a d unelizard, but I like big guns and tanking more. With my 96 speed 71/67/67 p/y/r 9k mass level 6 engine in my krayt, it flies like a dunelizard. With engine overload 3 my cruising speed is 1146. Best of both worlds.

By the way, I've got several variants of my Advanced:

Variant 1 includes my REed reward shield, an L7 based off the Boltdriver, and a nice L5 cannon
Variant 2 includes the above with a pre-nerf Mk2 Spacebomb launcher in lieu of the L5
Variant 3 includes a 1799hp player-crafted shield, an REed Borstel, and the Mk2 SB launcher
Variant 4 includes the above with the L5 in lieu of the Mk2 SB

And amidst all this, I fit twin 600ish REed L4 armor plates to augment the shields' defenses in combat.

So tell me again how the Advanced is completely ineffectual in PvP because its mass is too small.
