I am getting rebel prestige xp... What does that do, is it special or just there?

It lets you go to Deep Space, the PvP zone (and good place to duck into for full repairs without decay upon exit).

Prestige has no purpose other than getting you into deep space. Sad isnt it?

he can brag about it later, as its an indicator of how long youve flown for a given faction.. Beat your chest and say, "I have 50 million prestige!"
