Ok... I have been playing for about a month.. Forgive my ignorance...

I am working on Privateer tier 4 missions when I ran into a bit of a problem. It seems that any mission where I run into an imperial fighter (level 4 or 5) I am getting my butt kicked. Basically they all switch into this constant turn mode where I can never seem to catch them. I am in a dunelizard with an engine with YPR in the low 60's and 90's top speed. For comparison I have no trouble with level 4 or 5 dunelizard opponents. Just can't seem to catch those imperials... Is it my engine? My Ship? My controls ? ( I use a joystick). Or is it just back to flight school for me!

Any advise would be appreciated.

When in doubt, joust them. Agro them and fly away. When you're about 1300 away, turn around and charge them. They should be charging you, too. Blast them as much as you can, then pass. Cap to Shield Shunt, and get out to 1300 again. Repeat until they're all dead, or their numbers are more managable for dogfighting. Good luck.

Another possibility, for turning fights you need to throttle down.

Oh, and your reality check just bounced...

What is a slick?

I think he means "Scyk". People have a hard time spelling that one, for some reason.

I would fault the engine. Sometime during tier 3 you should have received a level 6 reward engine. MandalMoters "Inferno" is what i beleive the freelance version is called. anyway, the speed is 79.x and the YPR is 67.x . If you still have this engine and didn't let the chassis dealer have it for peanuts, get it RE's by a shipwright. To do this you will need a total of 6 engines with an RE level of 6. After RE that engine should be 83.x with a YPR of near 70. This will allow that Dunelizard to turn MUCH faster and be able to keep up with the Imp fighters. IMO the high-speed, lower YPR engines are better in the low maneuverable "Tanks" such as the Ryckz and TIE bombers.

I also suggest rather than utilizing the first 6 enginges you come across you pick and choose while being VERY picky about the stats on each piece.
It takes longer, but the results are FAR better than simply grabbing 5 additional level 6 engines.

If a poisonous snake is dropped on top of you from a gyrocopter, don’t freak out and shoot your own driver with your arrow gun, making the vehicle lose control and blow up. Its probably just as scared as you are.
