They asked me to apprehend Colonel Hend's shuttle, and I don't have a problem with his escorts, but the shuttle is tearing me to shreds. I'm only a Imp pilot 2-1-1-1 with a Tie/In Fighter. Any tips on beating him? It only takes about 10 shots from him to disable my ship.

I've never done this mission, but anyway, a few tips:
a) take a friend with you (might be the easiest way if you know some higher level pilots)
b) strafe the ship. means fly at it, shoot a few shots fly past and out of range, when you're shields are back up, repeat.
c) try to shoot the weapons (target them with [ or ] ) but you need to kill the shields first (see b)
d) might also be enough to kill the engine only if you have to capture the ship. Also once the engine is down the ship will not move and you can see if you find a blind spot (where it can't shoot back) and finish the job
e) get yourself a Droid Interface and a Flight Computer. with 2111 you can use a level 2 one. Not much room but get yourself the "Cap to Shield Shunt" (CtSS) command from a Privateer, and perhaps the Weapon Overload 3 command from a higher Imperial Pilot (you should be able to fit Cap to Shield 3 into the FC with it). CtSS allows you to transfer energy from your Capacitor directly to your shields, for quicker recharge or if they drop too low. CtSS 3 takes 75% of your capacitor energy and transfers it to the Shields.
