Not being master for to long I though I would ask the more experienced pilot what they think is the best loadout for 90k mass ships.

It would generally be for PvE space looting as my X-Wing is for PvP. For PvE I like to use my JSF .

Currently I have:

2 x Lvl 7 weapons(Ion cannon and adv blaster,Lvl 8 shield, level 7 engine and a lvl 6 or 7 droid interface.

The rest is made up low mass stuff.

That's a goodsetup I think. In something the size of the jsf I'd change the level 7 engine and 8 shield for a level 8 engine and 7 shield (or both 8s if you've got good REed parts :smileywink, espically with capacitor to sheild shunt 4 to use if you take a few hits.

You dont need that strong shield for pve...

Anyway my loadout:

2xlvl7 guns, lvl 6 shield, lvl8 engine, lvl1 DI, chaff, Image Rec Mark II (I use it for both PvE and PvP loadout though).

Someone replied with this info about my difficulties with 90K mass:

Since I think you dont want them to pvp, i'll give you some hints to make a decent pve ship.

mark IV shield: 1900+ protection, 16k mass
2 mark IV lasers: 0.65 refire, 14k mass (28k)
1 mark II reactor: 12k (+) generation, 1k mass
1 Mark III DI: 18 speed, 2.5k mass
1 mark III capacitator: 40+ recharge, 1k+ energy, 6k mass
1 chaff launcher: 1k mass
2 mark I armors: 300 HP, 1k mass
1 Mark V engine: 100 speed, 70/70/60 YPR, 33k mass

This should work

I can give you my A-Wing's loadout as a comparison. While lacking in firepower because of one gun, it does hold up well in PvE and can take a lot of punishment before the shields are compromised.

L6 RE'd Reward engine. Mine is Pre-nerf, but even a good 80-ish speed post-nerf one will work.

Mark III Reactor, more than enough power, for your needs with extra guns, maybe a Mark IV.

Mark IV Shields. 1946 front/back. I wouldn't accept less than 1900 shields, myself

Mark II Capacitor, but then I'm only dealing with one gun and its got ridiculously low energy per shot.

L1 RE'd Droid Interface An old pre-nerf job that's got a speed in the teens. With the extra mass, I'd suggest an L5 or L7 with a speed under 20.

Mark III Front armor. Since mine is a PvP ship, the extra points give me the ability to take a double shot on the nose from a JSF with no internal damage, this is optional in a PvE ship.

Mark II Rear Armor. Something token to give you at least one shot of resistance after the shields go.

Mark II Booster. Experimented for moderate speed, but long burns. Mostly for getting from here to there a little faster.

Incom Tri-Cannon. L8 Reward gun. .33 refire, 13.4 energy per shot, 3800 damage or so. Proper bang bang, and the best primary gun you could ask for. My suggestion for a secondary gun is an L7 crafted with refire experimentation to around .26.

That's a start, you can work up something more from there.

Not the most usefull advice to mention it in a good layout to a new pilot then is it ?

They're still out there. Plus the speed on a DI is only critical if you're going to get shot up a lot. If you get stuck with a slower one, just pace yourself and give yourself time to regen and capshunt before slugging it out again.

My current load out is:

REed L3 reactor (mine gives me 13800 output with only 1800 mass, though +13k regen with 2.5kish ones are easy to come by)
REed L6 Pre-nerf engine (not a option for a new pilot, but still its great for PvE)
REed L8 Reward shield (2555 f/b, 16.02 regen, 25k mass, great for PvE)
Pre-nerf L1 DI (you can still get them, i got one the other day from the bazaar search)
REed L4 Capictor (i've been working on these for the eventual WO3 nerf, 2600 mass, 1047 max, 44 recharge, i think it will be handy )
REed L8 Tri-cannon reward gun (Borstels have the same stats, but as said earlier, they make the best bang per mass guns in the game)
REed L7 Boltdriver (1986-3103 damage with 13k mass, if you can get the vs effs up, these can be awesome partner guns)
MkIII protons
Chaff.

I come in at 89100 with that setup. But my knew one is going to take a bit of work. I'm working on a Duel L8 gun setup, with a L8 engine. I'm not entirely sure if i'll manage it and keep my setup operational, but its going to be fun trying.

I run my B22with a RE'ed LvL 8 Engine (21k mass, 74.xYPR, 103.xsp), 2 crafted LvL 7 quickshot blasters (Not certain of the min/max damage, I think they are 15-25. .26 refire, .5 Vs Ar/Sh), RE'ed low mass reactor, Crafted LvL7 shield (17k mass, 1850 front/back, 12.5 recharge), One of those great 500mass 14.x speed DI's, a couple LvL 3 armor (About 650 Armor/HP and 3kmass), RE'ed low mass capacitor (About 35 recharge and 1000 energy).

This thing is awesome to fly. She doesn't get flown enough though as I like my Advanced Xwing with the LvL 8 engine above, 2 LvL9 crafted .25 refire guns and 1 LvL 7 .26 refire gun, ImageRecII, LvL8 reward shield, RE'ed LvL3 Reactor (2.7k mass, 14.5 power), RE'ed Capacitor (39 recharge, 1100 energy), the same 500mass 14.x speed DI (Found this on a vendor for 8k). I've even got Mass to spare on this ship. I am working to RE a LvL 10 engine (Will re to about 40k mass, 83.x YPR, 99.1speed, unless I can improve some of the stats). I'm also working on a LvL10 Shield (Will re to about 49kmass, 2690 f/b, 17.90 recharge, unless I can find lower mass). If I can fit that LvL 10 engine and shield into the Advanced X the other parts will be full time for my B22.

Level 10 Engine - 80+ YPR and 98+ speed is obtainable with a bit of luck.
Two level 6 guns - Can get them to under 10k mass each, and still lay out a lot of firepower (Hoersch-Kessel Scorchers usually have high damage)
Level 7 Shield - Can get to around 15k mass, and about 1.8k shielding, or if you're insanely lucky like Higgins, get them to around 2,300 shielding using the Starmap Protecto-net.
Level 4 reactor - About 4.8k mass, but with 14k+ generation. I know you can do a lot better than this RE with practice.
Level 1 capacitor - I can't remember the stats here. With CO4, you don't need to worry tbh.
Level 4 booster - Get insane amounts of burntime with a good RE.
Chaff - the ordinary stuff. Under 1k mass, and it stops missiles hitting you.

I use this for PvP.

For PvE I sometimes swap the Level 10 engine for a pre-nerf level 6, the level 7 shield for a level 8, and one of the level 6 guns for a level 8 and slap in a missile launcher if I have room.
