Thread: Best Place for Imps to Grind in Tier 4?
Auraboron wrote:I just made Tier 4 (Imp Inquisition), and have around 50k before I can train for the first box.I started doing duty missions, but was wondering if there are any options whereby I'll be able to train a bit more rapidly. Any suggestions? Also, I was thinking I'd train box one to use the JSF, but am wondering if Box 2 for equipment would be a better option. I'm currently using the TIE Heavy Duty. And yes, I understand I'm a noob who should try it the hard way.
Kessel. Take on Bwings and Y wings.
Send me a Ingame mail we go there quite often and can Helpya on it.
And get a Hair cut!!!

BE's teir 4 destroy mission spawns BS styled ships.
True - but it takes forever for it to get up to higher numbers of ships.

Holy cow. It was 500k, not 50k.
But still.. I was getting around 2k per ship doing Duty missions vs 8k per BWing in Kessell. Major difference.
Weird thing.. seems like my flight computer keeps uninstalling, even though I check it before I leave the Emperor's Retreat. Everything looks fine, but when I try to use it, it says I can't without a Flight computer installed.
Oh well. Thanks again for the advice, and I'll try to join up later tonight.
If you switch out boosters, it will uninstall your flight computer for no reason. It's a bug.
I did most of my Tier 4 XP grind for Black Epsilon out in Endor space (Black Sun spawn, Red Sin Chimera - lots of Tier 4 Death Watch and they keep on you hard so it forces you to stay on your toes and develop some decent situational awareness if you've not already got it
) and then hopped over to Kessel for a bit too to grind out FP and XP at the same time while I practiced on the vette before it was actually "show time" for me.
Solo'd the vette last night on my first try withOUT bomber strike(thanks to those of you who wrote up the guides and tips), and finally got my first master pilot badge. Now I feel like my training for Ace is just starting, since I've got to sort thru all those looted parts I have, figure out what's good for RE, and start learning all about PvP - only done a small bit so far, and already feel like I REALLY need to hone my skills (as well as get some better equipment than the so-so stuff I've been flying with so far). Plus I think I now want to master the other 2 Imp squadrons, plus at LEAST do the freelancer ones. Not sure if I really want to try Rebel, tho itmight be some good insight into what to expect from the folks flying those ships when I go up against 'em in PvP.... ![]()

As has been mentioned, Kessel is really your best bet. The XP there is nice, if a bit dull. Imperials get really boring duty missions. Be sure to hit up an Entertainer for the 10% XP buff. When you're grinding 1 million XP per box, it adds up.
I'd recomend getting your equipment box first, then the ships box. The Heavy TIE is a solid ship. Mine got me through all three Imp squadrons, with a few exceptions. The JSF will serve you nicely, provided you can handle the chittering of the R2 droids.
Finally, Jafo, I'm so jealous of you now! First you get a Lambda outside your guild hall, and now you're going flying with Aura! Lucky!
decided to add some numbers
it's a 4 ship spawn with around a 5 second respawn. assuming you could kill them as fast as they spawn that's a lil over 3.6k(10% insp buff) every 1.25 seconds. about 175k a minute. you could theoretically fill the 1 mill exp box in just under 7 minutes. in reality it's closer to 30-40k a minute for a decent pilot with good gear. so about 20-40 minutes to fill a tier 4 box.
