Thread: I'm bored and a little feed up.

Or is that feed up and bored?
Guess ill do the bored part first.

1.) Need something abit more meaningful as an endgame (can you say, GCW?), cause right now, JTL is nothing more then 15 dollar a month deathmatch server with a space mod installed. (and frankly given the hours i play, i RARELY see anyone. Even rarer now that ive moved servers, at least i got away from the 'tudes, 'sploits and lag though *sigh* )

2.) Capital ship encounters would be nice. I would say, "more captial ship encounters" but really, i dont consider the kessel vette a capital ship encounter anymore. Nor the ones in deepspace because their simply not worth the time in doing, and hardly anyone goes to DS anyway.

3.) Mining isnt much of an engame, ive tried multiple times. mining in Eve online wasnt as frustrating , but just as boring.

Now the the feed up part:

1.) I *REALLY* want to get involved in the GCW, its frustrating being able to do nothing about it as a pilot. I have to wonder, without a space involvment in the GCW, why the hell have miliary pilots (alliance / imperial navy) to begin with?!

2.) Im sick and tired of ship imbalances in all their forms. Personaly i feel that if i could turn back the clock to pre ROTW, add a 2nd missle mount to the Xwing, near perfect balance would have been acheived.

3.) Bugs. Lots of bugs. LOTS of UNFIXED bugs, And we keep getting new ones don't we?

4.) Developers near total abandonment of the space game. From ship balance, to bugs, to exploits (yes they still exist), to lack of a meaningful endgame. It all sits here unresolved and kinda reminds me of a birdsnest in your reels spool while ocean fishing. Sony just doesnt seem to want to sort it out. They more they pull on it for other things, the messier it gets.

5.) ive mentioned ship imbalanaces, but factional imbalances is also a crock of excrement and it stinks. Just take a good look at what teir 4 duty missions Rebels can run verses what imperials can run. Its like rebel pilot has the most content, and imperials just get this vanilla filler. Oh yeah, almost forgot, as if to counter my previous statement, im a little tired of rebels not having their first flight helmet. Ive gotten used to it, but i still dont like it.

Im really struggling to keep myself entertained. I think i might get a JSF, and maybe go privateer, (why i dunno, i always wanted to be a pirate honestly).

Bottom line though, sony needs to **it or get off the pot.

the problem is the underlying system prevents any really cool content.

if you ask me they need to totaly overhaul it from the groun up and make a "JTL 2"

the systems need to be ALOT bigger to start with. also there needs to be a WAR going on, with massive battles involving fleets in some systems.

the cap ships should be mobile, with a large mix of weapon systems, and a tremendous range on the big guns (in xwa its great to just sit back in awe as a deuce lays down the law on other ships in the area, its very cool)

ship physics needs to be more like the old style space shooters, but fighters should be able to go really fast, just not turn at all when at top speed. the ships should all be the same, no more of this shipwright crap and everyone having diferent equipment. one players xwing should be identical to anothers, unless its a newer model or something.

most of the ships should still be useful all the way to the endgame (obvious exceptions are really out of date craft like the z-95).

the npc foes shouldnt be getting shield and weapon boosts at higher levels, the missions should get harder based on the skill of your enemys or their numbers.

That stuff in red is all I disagree with. This isn't a space shooter, there's also the MMO element to respect. If anything, the ability to fine tune my ships into more deadly machines is the one aspect I love about this game.

Good ideas, but I also have to add that as a pilot I participate in the GCW every day by going up to deepspace. The faction I build up there goes into faction bases that I sell cheap, or just give away. I gather about 10k faction an hour give or take a bit (depends on the spawns), and all that filters straight back to the GCW. Of course having hard targets, and actively being a part of the GCW would be nice, but I am not holding my breath on that one. I see myself taking another break from SWG in the near future as finally space is getting tired for me. I can't even bring myself to run one full Yavin 4 destroy mission anymore.

Heartily agreed. JTL was, like most MMOs, rushed at released, and full of bugs. And why the Devs in general mismanage SWG worse than most games and leave bugs unfixed, the lack of attention to JTL makes it that much worse. I suspect much more was planned for JTL that never made it, and never will. Heaven forbid should SOE fix long standing bugs or follow through on content. Dev attention is scarce in the game to begin with, it's nonexistant in JTL.

yeah thats fine. Until the opposing faction shows up. Then neither of you are going to be grinding FP. Any bennfit to the GCW is canceled out at that point.

Just make Hoth and give me a Snow Speeder, a few dozen AT-AT spawns, some other random targets, and I'll be 10 times as happy.

You mean something along the lines of "I really do think Jedi Force powers should be usable while in space. Not just in POB's but versus other fighters while in a fighter."

Im one of those guys who needs a built in spell checker. I can grasp the english language just fine. It's just that i tend to fat finger the keyboard, type very quickly, and generally dont spend much time on what i write.

The more I see posts wanting to add a GCW to space, the more I never want to see it there. Especially from some of the idiots on the GCW boards. I don't think they've ever gone into space in their entire lives. Right now, they're trying to get a space version of the base-spamming war we have on the ground. Just imagine, you're on an escort in tier 2, and your target flies right past a player-base. Suddenly, you're attacked by tier 5 "defenders". Sounds like a lot of fun, huh?

One guy even wanted to have capital ships spawn every few hours, and you have to take them down to have "heavy NPC presense" in that sector. Now tell me, who thinks that a "heavy NPC presense" will be helpful to ANYONE learning to fly? If that's the best that the forums can come up with for a GCW in space, I want nothing to do with whatever the devs would give us.
