Just tried to do this mission out of Dathomir Space Station.

Basically it's an escort mission from a rendezvous point 8000m from the station and escort ship (Level 3 Merchant Freighter) to Dathomir Space Station.

Okay, it starts rather easy. 4 Tier 3 A-Wings fair enough.

Then more, and more and more.

Let's just say after you finish a lot of them off, 6 more A-Wings will spawn.

After about analmost two hoursof spinning and chasing A-Wings trying to protect the escort ship. My hands were getting numb. And the spawns keep on continuing. This was harder than the kill 30 Tier 5 Missions up in Kessel or the Corvette. At least a Corvette or a Gunboat is a big target! A-Wings after A-Wings after A-Wings after A-Wings, uggh.

Even though they're Tier 3, the sheer number of them would be just plain annoying. After the third or fourth wave I started using bomber strike. I used bomber strike 4 times during the whole mission, and alas the Escorted ship just plain blew up at the 5th iteration of Bomber Strike protection. Each wave would be 6-8 A-Wings. And so I lost count on how many A-Wings were up there.... Regardless my principal blew up and I failed in the escort and protection duties.

I'm flying a TIE Interceptor with RE'd Level 6 Parts. I do fine up in Deep Space against Tier 5 Rebels. It's just the sheer number and I need more of a damage output. 2, 3, maybe 4 A-Wing at a time is fine. Once they come in waves of six, it's just plain hard. Destroying them is not hard. It's chasing one after the other after the other. All the A-Wings break up in different patterns and does not conveniently line up in my sights.

Should I break out the Oppressor and try that approach or get in a Decimator and follow the escorted ship and blast A-Wings that come into view? I think the TIE Interceptor is the best ship to fly against A-Wings. Unless my Oppressor can one shot it, I don't think it's really fast enough to track an A-Wing efficiently.

The thing is, is the reward worth it? What is the reward from completing this mission? Anyone find an easier time with this mission?

That was indeed a hard mission but I managed to get through it myself in my TIE Advanced. The extra mass over the Intercepter lets me put a bigger weapon in it which helps take down the A-wings faster. ALSO do not try to destroy everything. I target the reactors of all the Rebel fighters to disable them... that's much quicker than trying to destroy them. You can tell when I soloed an escort mission by the trail of disabled ships in my wake

As for the mission lengths,I sometimes wish some of them were shorter because I have had to abandon a few because I didn't have the time! >_<
