Is the the most JTL active one? From what i can tell from the posters here, starstrider seems to be the place to be... or?

Ive returned from a bit of a break in swg and a change of scenery is warranted for me

Flying ships was what i invested most time in before i took my much needed break, and is still what i enjoy most since my return

any insight would be appreciated

PS.

I blame Leaph for getting me addicted to A-wings now i have to go imperial to repent!

Starsider unquestionably has the greatest number of active pilots.

Lately I've been working hard with several other full-time spacers to drastically improve the quality of the space game on Lowca. We've had a good deal of success, and we have a great deal of momentum. If you're willing to consider a server in light of its trend and future potential, we're a good bet.

Factionally we have two very strong organizations. The 181st fighter wing led by Tilca is the home squadron for most of our imperial pilots. The alliance pilots are somewhat more divided, being primarily organized on a guild basis, but a solid core cohere under the banner of my group, Wrath Squadron.

As the self-appointed space coordinator for Lowca, I'm committing to running at least one weekly event. We have had eight so far. The first set of three were squad-based, basically fancy furballs designed to feel out the community and gauge the depth of complexity we could afford for future events. They were surprisingly well attended and set the stage extraordinarily well for our space game. Write ups on these events: [ 1 | 2 | 3 ]

In an effort to engage more new pilots on Lowca, we did a PvE event next. We split the particpants into two teams and had each team run a general assault on the avatar platform, with the specified goal of scoring as many kills as a group as possible within thirty minutes. One member of each group logged system messages in a special tab and at the end of the event uploaded the log into an application I'd built on the spaceloot.com to tally the kills. It turns out this kind of thing goes over extremely well - it's a nice, low-key kind of atmosphere that helps foster trans-factional relationships and broadens the playerbase.

Most recently we've just come off a series of three 1v1 PvP tournaments. It turns out this only appealed to our hardcore spacers, so the most we got at anyone tournament was ten participants. The atmosphere was intense, however, and the competition was tremendous.

We begin our next arc of three story-based events on Saturday night, October 22. I'm excited about these, because for the first-time we'll be doing some really dynamic and interesting story-driven, rp-immersive scenarios. It'll be a new kind of challenge for our playerbase, but with the experience we've built up over the last month, I think we're up to it.

I believe that good communication is at the core of any worthwhile community building effort. To that end we have a LowcaSpace teamspeak server set up. Additionally we have the PL channel, a publicly accessible server-wide channel that we use to coordinate events, arrange duels, and generally cut up.

I feel like we've now exhausted the Lowca playerbase for building our ranks of core pilots. People have had over a month to get wind of what we're doing and get involved and the stream of new participants from within the server has dwindled severely. We're now turning our recruiting focus to other servers. To that end, several pilots from both sides of the factional fence have committed to the idea of ship raising events, designed to get new immigrants on their feet fast. Basically: we want this to work, we want it to work badly, and we're willing to work hard to make it worthwhile for people to make the jump.

If you'd like to talk further about a possible transition to Lowca, feel free to contact me via private message on this forum, or via trans-server in-game tell or email to Lowca.raja. I expect to be on for several hours both tonight and tomorrow night.

I know what you mean. Either Starsider or Lowca sounds like it would be great since I'm really uninterested in the ground content right now. Trying to concentrate solely on space, Sunrunner doesn't seem to be to into that end of the game though. Least not that I have seen.

What kind of problems have they been having with character transfers? other then the way to high cost of course. Just recently returned and hadn't even thought of doing that seriously till now.

Kettemoor also has a strong pilot base. And we had someone come over from Starsider to one of our PVP events, and he was plesantly surprised to see how many Imperial Pilots we have vs Starsider.

On Kette our events don't always happen in DS, and we are going to be gearing up for a POB event which should be a hoot.

Ahazi reportedly has a decent Imperial base (though I never see them in DS) and Bloodfin has a developing community.

To be honest, if you're planning on logging in to a server and finding targets in DS, none of them are really going to give you what you want. Starstrider might have a higher population in DS, but even during prime time I can fly through and not find targets most nights. There are definately more rebels out flying though, so if you go Imperial you might have more luck.

If that's the case the best community I've found is the crew on Starstrider. Bloodfin is also great - it's really funny when you see Imperials and rebelscum supporting each other to keep PvP alive. Sunday night everyone on both sides went after some goob who decided to loadkill rebels coming into DS during our event. For us, it's all about the flyin'. But we're a LOT smaller than the group on Starstrider.

And we had fun chasing him down also.

Kind of off-topic, but a memo to Bloodfin pilots.....Last night myself and a guildie ended up fighting with the DS loadkiller from Sunday. My guildie talked with him I guess, and the guy apparently saw the light, and started being really cool. He still flew the noobship, but hey, at least he stopped loadkilling after he was told that he was the joke and nemesis of the BF pilot community.
