I'm a ground Rebel, SA Freelancer in space.

Just did what I thought was the quest for the Vakasai but I ended up with the Advanced X-wing ship and badge.

Any ideas where I went wrong and how I could correct it?

go talk to the kashyyyk station and tell them you want a challenge... that is the vaksai quest. As freelancers we can do both.

if your freelance and ground rebel you can do both, to get the vaskai keep doing missions from the kashyyyk space station, will go the same way that it did at the rebel station

Go talk to Kashyyyk station and ask for a challenge, finish the missions, claim your Vaksai, then mothball the AX for a rainy day when you switch to Alliance, or sell it for a pretty penny.
