Thread: Capacitator dead for good?

I attempted to get my dead capacitators fixed:

Ticket Id: 3679785

I have three starfighter capacitators that after repair fail to ever generate capacitator energy. I even had a master pilot fly them to deep space and back, and still no functionality. They're in a house at -3065 -6105 (dantooine) in the main room, just on the floor against the wall. Please reset them to be useful again.....they're quite good components.

Greetings Azethoth,

This is CSR-RobertT at your service. Thank you for contacting Star Wars Galaxies in game customer service. I understand your issue regarding the problem you are facing with the components. I apoligize for the inconvenience but we cannot do anything about it. Your patience and understanding in this matter is highly appreciated.

Thank you for playing SWG.
Have a nice day.
Regards,
CSR-RobertT

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that I recieved a response in less than a week, and I know this problem is miniscule compaired to the frusterations some players have endured.

Has anyone else had this problem with their capacitators, and attempted to get them fixed? Is there a work around to get them running again? Does anyone know specificly why I have been unable to get results with my request for service?

Besides condition, do you have a high enough reactor generation rate to power it?

CSR's are in most cases a waist, that responce you got is a canned copy + paste responce they give when they have no clue or no care to help you.

I would imagine a ship part once broke is no longer useable

They should never really break, though. Their condition can drop a long ways, but that won't make them less or non-functional until they take damage.

The two questions so far are good ones--what's its condition at right now? And are you sure you've got the reactor energy for it?

That, and have you tried taking the components out, deeding the ship, unpackaging the deed, then re-equipping the ship.

Maybe you blew a fuse trying overloads.

I had three capacitors by now ending up with "max energy 0/0" after repairing at a station (all of the incidents happened in the early days of JTL tho so I sort of expected it was stealth fixed by now as it has happened the last time to me mid-december), CSR's however are not able to change stats on items (except for a few specific items where they got tools&rights for fixing the stats, the old bugged acklay bones for example as I raised exactly that when I tried to get my first of that three capacitors fixed. so they cannot help there at all, that's not the CSR being not willing to help, they dont have sufficient rights to change the stats.

That doesn't make sense.

I had a few capacitors I had RE-ed right before a server crash, and patch, and crash, and patch, and .... well when it was all said and done they had poofed.

The CSR got in touch with me, went through the logs and re-created them for me.

I don't see why they can't simply check the logs and re-create the items with thier proper stats for you.

That said my experience lately has been that they are unwilling to do anything at all no matter the issue.

Reverse-engineering empty capacitors fixes them. I found out the problem is when you use Engine Overload and you don't have the energy to compensate. Always get reactor overload and use it first. What really puts the nail in the coffin is repairing your ship. If you land, all the power settings will return to normal and you can start recharging them when you take off.

I've had what I would imagine might be somewhat similar instances too.

While it seems they have fixed the "Mark" bug where some components would randomly become named "Mark" I had a bug recently with some blasters.

I loaded a set of 2 home-made blasters in my ship.

Each had slightly different stats, of note I know for fact that one of them had .290 firing rate and the other had .280 firing rate.

After toying around for a while I landed and pulled them out.

At that point for some reason they both had identicle stats in every catagory, I had noticed this only because I had made another .280 blaster I was going to pair with the .280 I had, replacing the .290 .. only now both of them were .290.

I think it may have had something to do with them having the same name?

Refire and armor/shield effectiveness stats will get rounded off once you've used the gun for a while.

THese parts are already RE'd low level parts, with good condition, I have no shortage of reactor power, but the capacitators have 0 energy. They do not recharge. I just need some sympathetic SOE wizard to tweak them back into generating energy.

I heard recently that if you land without repairing your capacitor after it's been shot out, it'll set itself to 0/0 energy on the ground, rendering it useless. If that's in fact true, it's a pretty big component-related bug.

If anyone's got any more info on that, it'd be pretty useful.
