Has anyone had any problems with tractor beams? IE: beam destroys the ship you have targeted. This is happening to me on the mining ship quest mission I am currently on.

There are issues with player made tractor beems but I have never seen one do damage.

Seems to be a problem if you have someone grouped with you. Try leaving the group, then trying it again.

You are suppose to destroy the Mining Ship eventually.

I do destroy it, but without cargo. Also, I am by my self each time, and according to a friend who has done the mission some fighters are suppose to show up, but they never do, and I even waited around to see if they would.

FYI, I got through the mission in question, don't know what the deal was, but oh well.
