Hey guys, I'm in a situation that I need help with:

A few days ago, I started the SA. I got all the way up to the Kessel mission tokilling the 30 imps. Problem was, not only were the imps my friend, I couldn't damage or hurt them in any way.

So I figured it was because I was an imp on the ground, so I dropped the empire (which i was planning on doing anyway). I went neutral and the problem persisted - I couldn't hurt the imperials.

So now I am a full-blown rebel... and I still can't hurt the imps.

Any help on this matter would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks

Weird, when I did the wrap up mission for the ETA I wish I couldn't hit them! How funny that mission used to end up. Vader sends me up to lead a group of ties and both sides turn on me 'cus of one stray blast!

Have you been to kessel before as an imperial or RSF pilot?

There is a persistant bug with Smuggler's Alliance that sometimes causes this effect, but I believe you have to have gone to Deep Space (which you couldn't have done as a non-master) and I was also reasonably certain that it only effects the ship you went to Deep Space in (the work-around being that you remove all items from your ship, re-deed it and replace the items, and the ship now works in Kessel). But you may be suffering from a different problem. At any rate, re-deeding your ship may still work. Try killing Imperials elsewhere first, and see if that works. You could also declare for the Rebels in space and see if that helps.

What Tarina said. The other option is to test out a different ship. Just loadup a backup ship (if you still have one) and go try to shoot some Imps. Tier 1s would work. If you can hit them, then your other ship is bugged and flagged as an Imp-friendly ship. It's an odd bug that happens sometimes.
