Ello all

the last month or so Ive been kinda hooked on high speeds. Started with me getting hold of a Belbulabb-22, wich I bare squised in my fastest engine, booster and reactor into. after some timeI reached 2028 top speed with EO4 and boosters. Later I learned that I could get more out of the ARC-170, so after a little shopping-run I had some new fancy parts and fired up the old fighter. 2093

But I want to go faster. The Vaksai is supposed to have an even better engine-power-utilization-factor or whatever its supposed to be called, so I want to get hold of one.

Anyway, what I was wondering, was how fast can I go? Until now I have been using crafted parts. Will looted/RE-ed parts outperform these?

Current setup:

119 speed engine

49.2 speed cap

16.349.4 reactor

(as well as a low-mass DI, highspeed cap, lvl2 mining gun, cargo hold and some OK shields)

(full stats can be found on the Shipwright forum in the thread "Looking for faster engine and booster" or whatever...)

Allso, how fast can POB ship get? are there differences here? (Wich is best, YT-1300 or Y-8?)

Well, your best bet are the ships with a 1.0 Speed Multiplier:
A-Wing
Vaksai
Kihraxz
TIE Interceptor
TIE Advanced
Imperial Guard Interceptor

Those ships will all do 100% speed of your engine. POB Ships, while being able to have engines with higher top speeds, won't actually ever surpass those. A 0.8 modifier would require a POB Engine with 148.75 top speed to match the final speed of any of the above. To the best of my knowledge, top speed on the POB engines is still sub-130.

So, your best bet for speed is to grab one of the above ships and stick your best parts in it. A 119 speed engine is pretty top of the line. Not sure if any servers have the materials to make it to 120. I would check on your booster though. You might be able to find some 50+ top speed ones around, or commission a shipwright to custom order one.

With those numbers and EO4, you should be looking at a top speed over 2100 easy, maybe even closer to the 2150 range.
