Thread: No love from DEVs----Mining Mission

I am one of the many ppl who cant get their Y-8 mining ship. I know this has all been said before, but I gonna say it again anyway.
I think this sucks. One of the 'features' of ROTW was that now we can space mine! woot!11 But wait... cant do it. NICE
No response from the DEVs on this, and no fix in sight. And now, we're on the verge of a new expansion???
Whatever. hey, I bet the smuggler revamp is right around the corner.
Now, I will buy the Trials of Obi-Wan. I cant wait to do them. I had lots of fun with ROTW. But the fact that the devs just completely ignore this bug really bothers me.
oh well......

If you want to mine, don't get the Y-8, get a 3 gun fighter. Tractor beam, MKIII mining laser, and a blaster for defense.
Look in the FAQ for some very good techniques for using a fighter to mine fast.

Yeah, I've heard from friends that using the Y8 to mine isn't that great because you'll need gunners, etc.but I want the Y8 to have 
Make sure you file a /bug if you do the Y8 quest and get stuck. SOE even requests you file a /bug on it if you get stuck, read about itin game: holocron under customer service -> top known issues.

I was really slack with the Y8, started it to get the lazers then just didn't bother carrying it on UNTILL the day before Pub18, I had a call from work (emergency) so I had to log just as I'd met up with the Y8's. How upset do you think I am!!!

Don't get your hopes up to be honest its not that great of a mining ship because you can't use a tractor beam mount and it manuvers like a Tie bomber with an underated engine. Also the turret placement is awful. i found the 1 usefull thing i can do with my JSF.............. space mining 2 gunmounts and a nice engine go a long way with that puppy (mk3 mining laser and tractor beam)
