Is there actually any downside to dying in space other than having to pay to have your ship 100% repaired when you spawn back at Neutral Space station? I was just wondering if there is any sort of decay or anything from dying in space in PvE or PvP.

Unless you use the trick for repairing (don't remember what the order was offhand) or repair in Deep Space (thus why I don't remember the numbers), all your parts that were damaged will decay. Their Armor will slowly drop down until the part is pretty much ruined.

So, yeah, decay in space does happen, but only to your ship.

I'm sure the tricks fixed 'cus my re-grinding equips down to 20/20 on some parts.

Where can I check how my parts have decayed because I didn't think I saw a condition on my parts like on the ground. Also does the chassis decay in anyways because that would suck since I use quested and looted ships and what not like the Jedi Star Fighter.

Condition is the HP/Armour on the equip. Just make a note of what that was before you repair and then see the differece. IIRC it's 10% (5? someone help me out here) you loose per full repeair (Do a search and this should be explained much better) Chassi's do decay but cap at 10HP (help again if I'm wrong) with quests ships your best bet is to only use them when you're an ace so you can go to deep space for repairs (30k PP isn't anything) if you really need a JSF for T4 just use a bulb, they might not look as good and have a slightly bigger hitbox but thats basically it.

PS If you NEED a JSF or Bulb for T4 we'll all call you names and point at you

But what I am saying is the only way for the Chassis to decay is if you die right? Because otherwise is there really any other way it could get dmged?

Chassis is last line of defence, so if your shields are down and your armours shot, you're gonna get a damaged chassi

Now does this decay of all things happen only when you die and make a full repair or any time you makea full repair?

It's dependent on how much you repair. IIRC the trick was little, little, half, full and the repair margine wouldn't go over a certain percent so you didn't get any decay. I'm can't really remember to tell the truth, the only time I repair now is if I'm regrinding and I only use crafted stuff for that so I don't care that much. I'm sure someone else will do a 50 line post on the bits I've not mentiond

It's 1 point decay for every 10 credits it cost to repair. So the repair trick is only useful if you are just repairing damage from using droid programs, get any real damage and you will still take decay.
