Ok I posted this message in the Chimaera galaxy forums, but I thought it might be of interest here.
Ok, I have an idea regarding space PvP.
How about an event where everyone flys starter ships, the ones you first get that you can'e change the parts in, the real crappy ones, and perhaps 2 POB ships to each side with Lvl5 guns in to make them the big buggers they should be? what do you all think of that?
Also it crossed my mind that DS is chock full of Tier5's so thats gonna be a **edit** if you get agro'd, so I came up with the thought, what about Kessle? the NPC's seem to be far between there and it is open to everyone, not just master pilots so anyone can come along and get stuck, just declare overt and show up, and you wont even get decay on any decent ship parts cos you are flying a sack of crap.
So what are your thoughts on this? would anybody be interested in this? Please post your thoughts.

You'd have to tell the POBs they couldn't use Cap to Shield Shunt (or missiles) or they'd be nigh-invulnerable. You'd also have to make checks that no one was using Heavies (by singlehandedly examining each player) and padding themselves with heavy armor to give themselves an unfair advantage in the fray.

well I was thinkinh no ordanace and no Droid commands at all for the POB's.
I was kind of hoping that people would have the honour not to cheat, as it would be opening space PvP up for a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise have the chance for it and getting more people hooked can only be good for the Pilots, so I guess I had a lot riding on people integrity. All the pilots I have met so far on chimaera have been pretty nice individuals, yea there is the odd load killer, but overall I think they are a trustworthy bunch. Now if the buggers would just reply in the thread in the galaxy forum. Get up you lazy buggers it's nearly 6:30am

I'm up for it. I'll post here and there m8. I thought there was onlyone 6.30 that existed? And that's 6.30pm?

or you can wait till publish 24 hits and then the POB ships will be a little more capable in PVP. Then you can have any event you want.
I think they said it takes 4 or 5 hits in order to take out the new shields and another 2 hits to take out new armor (on POB components i mean). And their new guns will one hit kill any fighter.

A 3000-5000 blaster at .500/.500 might kill an unarmored L7-shielded fighter in one hit, but an REed L8 reward plus 1k or more of armor underneath WILL survive a hit from that.
The lethality from new POB blasters is going to come from the refire and whether the turreter is a good shot or not.

Refire, a good gunner, and a pilot willing to provide a stable firing platform, you mean.

A stationary POB (or a straight and level one) is a dead POB in my world - the gunner's gotta be able to twitch like a Parkinson's patient.

Would be a great way to celebrate the POB buff. Was thinking something like this myself, perhaps a POB hunt. Swarms of starter ships working together to take down a well equipped POB, perhaps a YT. Would be interesting in kessel, as there are plenty of places to hide.
But overall, a PVP event in chim would be awesome. Deepspace seems to be dead most of the time, so there aren't many opportunities for it.

Apart from last night Marj 
I was quite severley outnumbered at one stage. Untill Cuchulaainn came in to give me a hand
/tiphat for the 3 IR II's though. It's about time Oppressor pilots kitted them out as they should be for PvP
