started grinding out Privateer again and get to tier 2 mission 1 last night head to the waypoint in Nym's Space and... nothing happens. I abort try again... nothing. Known bug?

I just did it, and what you need to do is find Nym Bomber on your own, no wp given.

I think this needs to go in the FAQs, every day there's a "(mission with natural spawn) bugged?" thread.
