Thread: Best PvP Pilots on your server?

Hey all!

I'll get it started:

The pilots that I find to be the most talented (hardest to kill/most likely to kill me)on Intrepid are:

Aholke/Seveneleven (Imp) My second in command, a truly bloodthirsty pilot. He's the guy who turns2-6 into 2-1.

Ikaso/Twape (Imp) The great Twape. She's even meaner in space than she is on land. Very VERY mean, while still being awfully nice.

Wulffe (Imp) I've added this guy to my list pending our next fight. He seems awesome, but wouldn't fight me again after our draw.

Edaup (Reb) My first 20 minute Duel. We had to keep taking breaks. Jinky as a greased pig in a centrifuge.

Ebel (Reb) Pure class this guy, he helps me show our new aces what they should expect. Put the old engine back in man!

Maelstrom/Amiss (Reb) The most frustrating Bellulab pilot I've ever seen. When he and Sorren train up their navy, they could take over the server.

Sorren (Reb) Relentless. Reffing his duels vs. Maelstrom was one of the high points in my space career.

There are quite a few folks who are darn close to this list, Layne (who went from scrub to contender in5 fights), Geevo/Weiss, Omali, Midge, Ackfore (Acksploit), master of the /launchmissile "tactic" (cough), Daedenilus' (who went easy on me). Many more. As it stands right now, these are the folks on Intrepid who are raising the bar. /salute all of them. Apologies to those who I forgot.

Hmm...interesting topic...

But for now, I'm going to hold off on my analysis of Rebel/Imperial pilots on Starsider. Maybe later I'll step on some toes and inflate some egos.

I've only fought Imps and Neutrals, but there aren't any good PvP pilots on Tarquinas (myself included)

Here's a good test:

Will the bandit try to turn with you regardless of his velocity? I've lost count of how many people I've seen trying to turn their RGTI, JSF, Tie Advanced, etc. to keep up with an X-Wing spinning in circles at 0.55 throttle. The same holds true of A-Wing pilots chasing Oppressors, Krayts and Aggressors. Ofcourse they lose. If they'd simply keep their velocity up and use rapid course corrections to throw off the enemy's aim, they'd win more often.

A few more examples:

Rebels don't use missiles when they should. Tie Oppressor pilots don't, either. Pilots on my server actually try to go head-to-head against a Heavy X, B-Wing or Krayt while flying light/medium fighters. Heavy fighters often get caught trying to chase light fighters at max velocity. People also wouldn't know countermeasures if it leapt up and bit them on the posterior. Section leaders don't protect wingmen. Wingmen don't protect section leaders... It just goes on and on and on.

Then we have people who claim that they're God's gift to space PvP on Tarquinas. Frankly, I've seen them fight and they're a far cry from what a decent pilot should be.

At first I didn't want to respond to this since I know I will leave out some people that will probably kick my rear for it later, but here goes (these are not in any kind of order):

Rebels (I have fought alot more of these so I have seen them first hand):

Halyn

Joken

Emort

Kitten

Bendo

the B-Wing Guy (from the video... in that same fight he spun aroundand killed me so fast that I didn't have time to get his name)

Imps (I mostly have seen these as I am flying with them but since I usually concentrate on the rebels the list is a little short)

Nathan (sp?)

Tomo

Sylestra

Garnes

this list is far from complete. Starsider has so many good pilots that it is hard for one person to know all of them. So I am sorry if I left you off accidentally.

BTW: I left off Leaph because I have never seen him fly.... sometimes the battles are so big that two pilots my never even see each other. but I am sure that he would make the list.

My votes are based on not only the piloting abilities of the player but also their knowledge of JTL and it's mechanics.

For the Imps I'd have to cast my vote for Gehrmann, Gallant, Totai, and of course Thradd. There are others but these are the names that stand out and shine time after time (especially mine :smileywink

Although none of the following have been able to best me in single combat they are the best I have seen the Rebels offer. Rafiki, Malachi/Fivel, Bishop. There are a few others who put up a good fight when they show, but don't PVP as often as the other pilots on the list.

Dashka is our B-wing pilot. He certainly belongs on the list for his shear ability to survive and get kill is a B-wing. I'm not sure I belong up there. I'm a fair pilot at best. I just try to do my job.

yeah... when I first saw him... I thought "I am in a pretty well equiped advanced and that is a b-wing... easy kill"... next thing I know I am respawning at the space station wondering how he got not only got turned around that fast but how did he know I was just getting into range when he was fighting someone else.

you definitly belong on the list... I saw you take down 3 Imp pilots that swarmed you and then finish of the rest of us imps one on one during the PvP escort mission that halyn set up.

Harotak certainly should be added to the SS list. That guy does things in a T/A that too many people would be hard pressed to achieve in a JSF.

Halyn certainly is good, dueled him twice for a 1:1 outcome [I was happy to quit with a draw after that point].
Tomo sounds scary..
Erm, seen Kitten fly briefly and I think the good things I hear about her are justified.
Abi is great, so is Luucas (sp?)
Bendo certainyl can hold his own..I mean this guy was flying a Y-wng in DS and doing well.
So is Li'

I must admit, I am mostly impressed with Adonis though. KSE's by law should not last longer than 2.5 seconds in pvp let alone kill everything in sight.

This is what I'm basing off what I've seen mostly btw. I know there are a great deal of othe rpilots on SS deserving to be 'on the list' but I'm not a elephant..I can't remember everything.

Halyn is a great leader and real fun to fly with. I think flying wing with him alone made moving to SS a good career move for me.

Watch this space though...becauseI've been flying with a new'ish pilot called Risian who has chosen to adopt the A-wing and I must say they're flying extremely well. Not that my view is overly valid...I'm new to the server so am rather 'humble' still but I know a person who is cut out for an A-wing when I see one..and they certainly are.

Anyway..yeh, SS rocks

In all fairness, so far I've seen too many people who should go on the list. It isn't as much as 'who is best' as..people seem to specialise in different areas. It is to diverse to say "hey so and so is the best" etc.

Thats me and my diplomatic view though

I knew I would forget people... adonis was working that firespray. when we first launched and I saw what he was flying, I figured he wouldn't last long. I was wrong. He turned that flying wall into scythe.
