Thread: Rebel Squadron Selection
Im just about to finish Akrons Havok Sq (only have the corvette left)i did it all solo.. died once from bad tactics.. it was not to difficult. Took me 4 days to get 4444. Kind of short missions.
One of the last missions at tier 4 involved defend a retreat of bombers.. you simply get a wp and should stick close to it and not die.. in the end i even skipped shooting the tie's, because i had like 20 around me.. i just shield shunt and rolled around to avoid fire until mission success came up.
You do have to meat imp.ships here though.. infact i dont think there is any rebel sq. that dont have lots of imperial enemies during missions.
Yeah i've done CP and AH, they're both very imp heavy, but its a rebel squad, so what do you expect?
CP is veryRebel chain-of-command military in theme, so lots of direct sorties against Imps, whileAH is like rogue-pirate theme, but pirates working for Nym against the Empire, so same result. I wouldnt imagine Vortex is much better either, as they set it up so Vortex and theInquisition are rival squads. Plus, Vortex is infamous for its long escorts
That being said, AH didnt take me very long. There was only one or two really challenging missions, so you probably shouldnt need to rely on your hubby's bstrikes.
I did Vortex. Some great fights, mixed with crappy escorts.
I'm pretty sure almost all targets were Imp, but your husband could help you with any extra npc adds you might get on the missions.
I loved the X-wing...

I'm working on my last Reb squadron now. I've Aced Arkon's Havok and Vortex squadrons already and am at 2222 in Crimson Pheonix.
Arkon's Havok is the easiest of the Reb squads in my opinion, although keep in mind I'm only 2222 in Crimson Pheonix. So far Crimson has been more against Pirates but there are alway's Imp opponents you have to take out. All the Reb squads are primarily against Imps for the required missions.
You might find that X Wing is a little better than you think for PvP. I've got a Heavy X that does pretty good. I do need more PvP time though...
If you go Reb find yourself a Heavy Z-95. For a Imp Pilot you will know how to use that ~95K mass very well. I use my Heavy Z all the way to 4444 in each squad before switching over to an X Wing. I also use mostly all crafted components (I'm a Shipwright and make my own stuff). The quickshot crafted blasters work great!
Good luck, and have fun.....
