Thread: Weapon selection bug

I noticed that every time I do a hyperspace jump, the selected projectile weapon group switches by one. For example, when group 1 is selected, after a jump I end up with having group 2 selected. When the last group is reached, it switches to the first one.

I noticed that because I tend to have a mining laser in group 1 and a tractor beam in group 2. I use "fire current weapon group" as default attack, not "fire and cycle current weapon group". When I hit fire the mining laser fires normally, but after a hyperspace jump my tractor beam fires when I pull the trigger.

I could reproduce the same effect with any ship (that has 2+ guns) and any gun-type ship weapon if I have them in several groups. (Sometimes even an empty group gets selected. Could be only on a krayt and because of the the turret gun. I'm not sure about that.)

I didnt test the missile groups so I cannot say anything about it.

Can anyone else confirm my findings or is it just me that's bugged?

I have noticed that on my mining ship.

I wonder if it is in the game for a long time or not and if its a known issue.

It sure is annoying when you found out that you forgot to check your guns while being swarmed by enemies.
I still need to check if it's the same with missile groups.

Been in as long as I can remember. That's why I only use one weapon group.

So it's like the auto-deselection of subcomponents. At some point you do a big /sigh and learn to live with the bugs...

Sad.

Pretty much. I've learned to always check if my Astromech/F.C. is loaded before I launch, even if I haven't gone to the management screen for anything.
