Iwas an imperial pilot, and recently switched to rebel. I used a z-95 all the way up to master, then I decided to use a b wing. how the hell do you guys fly a b-wing?!?! i go to deep space with that thing, its great for killing gunboats, but for fighters its impossible! I need to slow down to maneuver properly, but then the fighters get out of range and I need to speed up to catch up to them. When i get to the fighters I have to slow down to maneuver again but by the time I slow down the fighters are out of range again! and on top of all that the oversteer is insane! Please offer me some tips

Ya. there were some great postings on B-wing fighting.

I can help you using a Oppresser. you need a really good YPR engine to help and make small corrections.

you still have missiles to shoot the running away fighters if they do not stay and fight. you only need to hit them once and aim for the engine.

yeah i really wanted to fly an a-wing btw oppressors handle like a dream compared to b-wings. I might go as far as saying that the b-wing handles worse than PoB Ships

Hehe, the B-wings a right laugh.

Very rewarding if you can get it to work.

Actually, I think they do. The Y8 can fly sircles around the bwing. I'd love to seriously use the Bwing some day, but it's not worth it until I've REed a few RE10 guns and a decent engine. The last time I used a Bwing, I didn't yethave my Kuat R-CTZ. It was really underpowered.

Lets face it, fly one of those, and it looks an absolute beast.

Nothing else I've flown manages to get so many questions and compliments. Not when you try and actually use the bugger, though.

i been using it. the fire power is IMMENSE! but the handling..... when i am fighting and following a fighter and it moves in a different direction, the oversteer itself is enough to get me killed when i try to get the fighter on my screen again

Check out my film feature when it finally gets completed. Much footage of B-wings in action (thanks to Yelina and Rac'el for their piloting).

I must admit, I hold a lot of respect for B-wing pilots since frankly, I am scared of them. They're the polar opposite of an A-wing so I could assure you I'd suck righteously with one .

Dashkka is an awesome B-wing pilot on SS. Traodroh and Mezzeppa spring to mind for Bria though.

the B-wing and Y-Wing are basic the SWG version of the A-10 Warthog. slow and they have the refinement of a Locomotive. but anything that gets in front of it is due for a really really bad day.

The thing that helped me the most is stop jerking the stick around. If you start flying with slow, smooth motions, moving the stick no faster then the B-Wing can respond all oversteer disappears.

Chasing/turning battles are tough and time consuming in a B-wing, strafing/jousting works much better,

i love my B wing. Washell has some good advice there which could help you get started with theB wing.. o and by the way.. once u get the hang of it you will be using and taking advantage of the b wings oversteer. the only thing you should worry about fighting with a B wing are the A wing , belbulab and ETA actis. a real pain with their maneuverability and tiny hitbox.

also if ur using a crafted engine get a mark V PYR 69 top speed 99 one.. work on getting a lvl 10 RE with PYR 80 and top speed 100+.

get LVL 8 - 9 REd weapons andUSEmissles, CMs

i happenned to get my hands on a 2555 front/back hitpt shield with 17.8 recharge and 24k mass. found it on a vendor for 15k

hope this helps

I've recently started flying the BWing, and finding it tough... I'm using stock parts, but now my JSF is finished (or as near as its gonna get), I will look around for some better equip. Main trouble i'm finding is the "lining up" time - I'm used to flying a Krayt, which although it is a gun short, can be lined up and shooting in quarter of the time it takes me to engage with the B! I have very few flight hours logged in the BWing tho, so hoping it gets better!
