Stupid question #1 was "How long does it take to grind a squad?"

I got my answer over the last few days...and the record was a poster that said 5 hours and 45 mins...lol

Well Ive done just about everything else in the game and actually like space...lets hope they dont screw it up anytime soon

Stupid question #2 So heres my checklist as I get ready to grind out 6-7 more squads...anyone have any suggestions?

Deeds - (there are better ships IMO...but remember that this is also 1 ship from novice -> Ace done to save time)

  • Neutral - heavy Syck

  • Rebel - heavy Z95

  • Imperial - heavy Tie

Droids / Flight Computers

  • 3-4 Flight computers and 3-4 droids...all programmed in advance

House

  • 1 big empty house to off load all the space junk

  • 1 poor shipwright to RE the crap in the hopes of getting a Kuat disk

Reactor

  • Only need a lvl 1 or lvl 2

Droid Interface

  • Gotta find me 1 pre-nerf lvl 1 DI

Engines/ Weapons

  • RE level 2, 4, 6, 8 Engines standing by...Quantum Ion Engine is ready!

  • Same for weapons

Faction

  • Got friends on both sides waiting to sell me faction

Misc

  • Coffee, Jolt Cola, 2 day old Taco Bell, Zantac all within arms reach

  • sedate wife/ girlfriend...or simply try to buy her off...as this jaunt may take a week or 2

Unless you're at negative faction on one side, you won't need any faction. You can sign up with the factional squadrons with 0 FP.

Yeah, kinda. Take your time. Fly all the ships. Granted the heavy starters make great economic sense, but..... fly all the ships.

I dont think many people set upon JTL with the immediate goal to do all 9 squadrons - its one of those things that just eventually happen over the course of time.

Take your time, theres no rush, cause after your done, theres really nothing else to do except pvp.

The Heavy Syck isn't as useful as a Dunelizard can be in the earlier tiers.

You lose about 10k in mass but gain another weapon mount - and you'll be hard-pressed to hit 85k by 4333 anyway. The only thing the Heavy Syck can afford in T3 is the ability to mount SW-crafted L7 armor for extra protection.

Death doesn't fly a JSF anymore...he flies a Gallente Thorax in EVE Online

QFE, I ave done 5 and a bit now, and taking your time is fun. When talking to your trainers, actually read what they say and take time to think how youll reply etc. I havent used droid programs preprogrammed either, just the ones in the particular faction, and the level i am at. The only special equipment I have is a stupendous lvl 4 REed engine and a seriously tasty lvl 5 gun.

I am having a great time now playing through the squads, especially with the settings set to Ace Pilot (hard) rather than Jedi (childs menu, please). Just using the programs of my squad I have soloed it all so far (except that corsec tier 2 mission when the ships where drunking bumbelbees, thanks Yanus). Hell, I even pop into Kessel for the XP as a tier 1 and 2 pilot, its great fun.

Take your time and have fun. I originally remastered squadrons to have something to do in space. I recommend doing each faction for the first time in pre-RotW ships. Fly with a friend, try new tactics. Listen to the trainer text. Don't burn yourself out racing through all nine - there's not much on the other side.

Are you a pilot and not using Droid Commands?

Oh, and there really IS a good point to going through the pre-RotW Imp ships - learning to use mass effectively. It's not fun, but it's useful later. Rebel squadrons either force you to stay with the 11k ship to 3222 or use a heavy ship, so you learn to deal with theirpoor maneuverability.

Actually I kinda said it tongue-in-cheek....Last thing Im gonna do is sit down and play 137 hours straight to master 7 pilot profs...Cause if I do you will all read either

1) about some stupid guy who really did die in in Xwing...or 2) got clubbed to death by his wife with his joy-stick

I enjoyed Smuggler Squad and it's story line...and am looking forward to more!
